Making my planning document masterlist thing for whumptober and realizing that if I follow the plan I'll be debuting The Washouts on Day "That's new" 20. Like yeah it is in so many ways.

Thinking about what I guess is now technically the prequel to fbaf even though it was the story I imagined first, and how it should probably get a title since I've brought it and the characters in it up a few times now.

It is essentially box boy universe system, thought up before I knew what that term is, set in the attack on titan universe. My thought process was "Hey, slave trade is canon to this universe, what if I explore that a little bit" and it kinda flew from there.

Other than the setting, what makes it different/fun is how all the products are kidnapped. The commander of the training corps (not the one we know from canon, this would be his predecessor but I also don't think I gave him a name he was always just 'the commander') takes trainees that no one would miss, and 'flunks' them out. Everyone thinks he sends them home, but he's actually got them in his basement, breaking them down a bit more before selling them off to the main operation nearer the main cities.

(This is actually where John's main story/guilt complex is. He's in the same class as Kaz, our main character here, and when he's 'sent home' John's slightly surprised but ultimately thinks little of it, until waaay later when everything comes to light and he learns that his friend was still on campus Weeks after that in his trainers torture dungeon, and he did Nothing then, because he Didn't Know, but good luck convincing his consciousness of that.)

So the name should probably be related to that somehow. 'The Dropouts' maybe? The irony being that most of them wouldn't have left if it was their choice. Maybe something in a similar vein like 'The Washouts' since that probably illicits more military connotations.

Maybe I go more 'reasignment'?- nah vibes wrong that's a chapter title

Free Birds and Fiddlers just kinda came to me idk why this is so hard.

I think I like The Washouts. Abbreviated TWO- no. TW- fuck.

TheWo? Yeah let's go with that.
