And when you’re alone and you finally take off the mask,
Does the reflection of your true self haunt you?

I’m mixing caffeine and sleeping pills because my head’s always pounding from the pressure in my skull. They thought I had a tumor but it turns out my brain was just confused. A couple mixed signals and some warped vision gave me a whole new meaning to a broken mind.

And I was never good at telling jokes, but the punchline goes; I’ll get older but the trauma hurts the same.

What’s it like to hate someone but love them at the same time? It’s remembering all the good moments but still feeling the sting of betrayal. It’s looking at old pictures and wondering if they’re still the same person you once knew them to be. It’s praying that one day you’ll be able to trust them again after they’ve asked for your forgiveness. And most of all, it’s knowing that at some point you have to realize that they’re human and capable of change. That maybe, they’re trying to be better, and they need your love to get back on their feet.
