Love only hurts when you have expectations placed on it. I've been blessed to finally understand that Love need not be guarded but breathed in and exhaled out into this world, saturating our very existence. I have learned much from my pups. Loving is not the problem, it is the many expectations we attach when giving it! I have been extremely nourished by those I have loved as pure happenstance. When you find yourself hurt by love ask yourself is it the love or what I expected that person to do or change that didn't happen. We must have rules and boundaries of what we will and will not accept in our lives. This is healthy care for our well being and safety. Expectations, however, is your personal imposition into someone else's life and existence. I smile because I feel it and feel free to share it not because I'm expecting anyone to smile back. #theworldofdogs
