I’m finally hereeee....in mommy’s blog.  After over 8 years being with this family that I dearly love sooooo much, mom finally is writing something about me.  Actually, I hacked her tumblr account and...voila...the world can now see my angelic face.

My name is Magic.  Mom named me Magic.  I find her reason very weird.  As mom said, long time ago, back where they came from, I think she said they are from the Philippines, they had a cat that exactly looked like me.  Creepy.  When they moved to Canada, of course I got left behind cos they weren’t cat lovers then.  And so back in 2011 I was born.  Landa saw me, fell in love with me and wanted to bring me home.  I was only 2 months old when I became part of this family, and the rest is history as they say.

I grew up with my big brothers Buddy and Bruno.  Kuya Buddy is now at the Rainbow Bridge.  Kuya Bruno doesn’t play with me that much so sometimes I annoy him instead.  It’s kind of boring to be an inside cat.  I used to be out and about when we were still in B-town.  I even walked with my two kuyas morning and evening.  When we moved here in D-town, I still roamed around the hood until nasty raccoons bit me twice.  Mom did everything to let me live my second life.  I guess mom doesn’t know that cats have 9 lives.  I think she does cos she told me once that I only have this much of lives left especially so after my surgery when I had my bladder stones removed.  Whatever.  I tell ya I’m a fighter as I’ve been in and out of the clinic and I’m still alive!  I’m even on maintenance for hyperthyroidism.  I don’t know what that is but the meds I’m on makes me chubby that Tita Mharj calls me tabachingching.  She even calls me this different name “Majica negra.”  My name is M-A-G-I-C and I’m not chubby.  Those are my baby fats.  Good thing mom loves me and won’t let me do all those workouts that people do.  I heard mom is a coach trainer.  No wonder she wants me to run around the house, at my own pace though.  I love my mom.  We have the same birth month.  Mom carries me all the time and sings me lullaby.

I have the best mom ever and I am very sure she is an amazing trainer too.

Rainbow Bridge Birthday

Happy birthday to me.  I would have been 15 years old today on earth.  I saw mommy teary eyed this morning while whispering her birthday wishes to me.  I heard it mom.  I saw you hugging my lil box.  Your hug felt sooooo good.  Thanks mom.  

Earlier this evening I heard you and Bruno singing happy birthday to me while cooking dinner.  I saw that Bruno was really waiting for that cake, as you always bought yummy cake every time it’s our birthday.  I was laughing out loud when Bruno’s excitement turned into disappointment when he realized that there was no cake.  The bakery where mom buys this yummy birthday cake was closed due to this Covid-19 thing that plagued planet earth.  Good thing I am not on earth anymore.  This would have been too much for me.  I could not imagine how a 15-year-old golden retriever would have lived having this virus around.  Although dogs don’t get infected with Covid, but still....

Anyway, today is my second birthday here at the rainbow bridge.  Btw, I am sorry mom for leaving you last year while you were away.  My bad. I decided to step out quietly.  I didn’t like to see cry.  You know I’m very emotional too.  I didn’t like both of us to be crying as we say our goodbyes.  That would be too much for an old guy like me.

I had so much fun today.  Our mom here at the rainbow bridge prepared yummy treats for everybody.  It was indeed so special for me.  Nevertheless, I still miss my family on earth, although I can see them every single day as I run and play around.  I will wait patiently for that day when mom and I meet again and she will take me in her arms and embrace me.  I will then give mom lots of kisses, again and again and again.  We will then cross the rainbow bridge together, never again to be separated. <3 <3<3

When?  How about if it never gets clear in this lifetime?  Will I just say goodbye to this world still confused?  Hope not.  Nakakalito talaga ang mundo.  Nasa sa yo  na lang kung mag paapekto ka o hindi.  Masyado nang kumplikado ang lahat.  I just wish for that day to come where I can enjoy life with bliss and serenity.  Ahhhhh....the calmness of the sea....

Unconditional Love

This is Buddy - our furry family member. We give him unconditional love and we can feel that he loves us more in return. He's my bubu, my best friend, my companion, my jogging mate. I love him so much to the point that I always think of him every time I'm away from home - if he has eaten his meal or waiting for me to come home before digging into his bowl and if he's doing fine at home alone, etc. Actually I always try to bring him with me if possible.

Today, I decided to pick up chicken from KFC for dinner. In this case my Buddy is definitely coming with me. I chose to drive my husband's truck because I love driving it given the opportunity. It's a Sport Trac so it's higher than my Pontiac van. Buddy has a hard time climbing up every time he comes for a ride but he can definitely hop in. He never tried to climb up and already started giving up. Told him to just stay then and wait for me. I won't be long anyway.

I drove out from the driveway and even waved at my Buddy. He looked so sad. It broke my heart seeing him that way. I've gone two blocks away. I glanced at my rear mirror and saw him running after me. I instantly pulled over and as he was approaching, I opened my arms wide and gave him a big hug. This made me cry. I knew it. He doesn't want me to leave him and he wants to be with mommy all the time. I am so thankful that he didn't get ran over while crossing the street by himself (he has a bad habit of not stopping and looking before crossing).

We went to KFC together and drove back home with a fulfilling bonding time. We had a walk in the trail nearby afterwards. I always pray to God to give Buddy a healthy and longer life.

Our New Baby

He is Bruno (that's his name eversince. Otherwise we should have named him Icedcapp)- a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and was born on May 15, 2007. We adopted him last 16 November

2009 from the Burnaby SPCA. The moment we saw each other at the shelter, there was this instant connection that I couldn't describe and explain. I right away gave our application form to adopt and from then on, I kept following up and going back and forth 'til the day we brought him home. We're so blessed to have him and Buddy (golden retriever - see my very first post) in our family. The love and company they provide...astounding, incredible, marvellous and so on.This Bruno is just like my stalker. Kung nasan ako, nandun din sya nakabuntot palagi. I wonder if he gets stressed out following me up and down the house several times a day. That's why I worry a lot every time I leave the house (buti na lang kasama nya si Buddy). You can really see in his eyes and gestures that he doesn't want to be left behind. Though I always try to bring both Buddy & Bruno with me, there are times that they really need to stay home. When I get back home, guess who's doing lots of spinning and rolling over just to get my attention? Bingo, you're right it's Bruno. Too much attention-seeking that Buddy gets annoyed most of the time and will just pushed Bruno away from me so he could come closer and get a hug and kiss that he also deserves for guarding the house. Oh these babies of mine are just incredibly wonderful.Bruno loves to copy the sound of sirens - ambulance, firetrucks, police cars. He chases squirrels every time we walk in the trail, runs up and down the hill nonstop, very friendly to all dogs we meet, and renders a big smile if you pet him.Since he's only 3 years old, he's very hyper and playful. Feeling nya sya yung baby sa bahay, which is actually true. But then Buddy seems divergent. Sya nga naman ang unang baby namin sa bahay so parang... hey ako pa rin ang baby. We're looking forward to bring them to the lake this summer and see how Bruno reacts. Buddy loves swimming but seems like Bruno's scared of the water.
