When I Received Life

I lost my life
When the disguise
Began to fade away
The world taught
Me how to smile and
The wrong things to say
I told lies to hide
The internal scars
That came to be
The world said I
Was different and
Just wanted me to bleed
There wasn't a choice
But to dance with ghosts
And lose a part of myself
The answers to life
Never seemed simple,
Like some sort of hell
I saw death for what
It was, and it terrified
The life from my bones
A yearning for some
Bitter truth where me
And my soul could atone
I danced in the fire
With the demons that
Haunted my mind
I climbed to the
Top of mountains
Only to find...
Faith doesn't come
Cheap, or at least
Not to me...
But the answer
Was more simpler
Than I made it to be...
I only had to get
Down low, and
Accept His Grace
I asked Jesus to
Come into my
Heart that very day
