Lichen is protective in Muren in all the right ways, in all the ways Muren wants him to be protective and possessive and lovingand caring.
Muren is soft in all the right ways, all the ways Lichen loves, soft hands and soft smiles and soft love that just wants to be loved so badly.
Together, they're protected and soft, loving and strong, steel over silk and silk over steel, they're the ice king and the laughing king only they don't have to be their roles, they can just be them.
Lichen is silk when he draws Muren close and steel when he yells out to the world that their love will not be challenged.
Muren is steel when he plans to protect Lichen and silk when Lichen sings to him and he cannot look away.
