i feel like in every book or piece of media, there's a laura palmer. maybe they haven't struggled as much as her, or maybe they've struggled more, but it honestly boils down to a character that despite trying their hardest, is doomed by the narrative.

they can't escape their fate & people only see the perfect facade they put on to please everybody else. they're not perfect and do fucked-up things to cope, but they can never run fast enough from the darkness. they were always going to die, or turn evil, or be lost. they were never going to have their happy ending.
