          “     yoojin.     ”     his  voice  sounds  too  loud  in  the  dead  of  night  ,  even  when  he  tries  to  keep  it  at  a  whisper.  the  novel  in  his  hands  isn’t  holding  his  interest  anymore.  for  the  last  however  long     (     he  can’t  remember  how  time  passes  when  he’s  reading     )     he’s  only  been  reading  words  on  a  page  ,   not  a  story.  still  ,  he  can’t  bring  himself  to  put  it  down  and  succumb  to  sleep  that  won’t  come.     “     it’s  late.     ”     he  rises  from  where  he’s  sitting  ,  marking  his  spot  in  the  book  with  a  days  old  receipt  retrieved  from  the  depth  of  his  pockets.     “     are  you  going  out     ?     i’ll  come  too  ,  if  that’s  okay.     ”
