⅋ KILLER OF THE NARRATIVE
the walls around us are breaking more the longer we continue to exist on this world that should not be ours to conquer, all devour. i can sense them, i know them: the invisible divine barriers cracking mistaken as breaking bones, endless eyes disguised as hidden stars… we are being watched closely as the world dies beneath us bit by bit in second to darker second and you ask me: “ will i be forgiven for the sins i did not commit, but created ? " … you tell me, fate breaker. i am just these sins god made and disregarded.
[ CONSTELLATION, KILLER OF THE NARRATIVE, HUMS. ]
“ well… you are doing what a mere mortal human sh- should not do, so i - i - i don’t think you can get away with this easily unless you’re being careful enough, buddy, ” killa answers in honest, shrugging at @storyend. dokja has been the moment the apocalypse begun, so it is not too concerned for him. from where they are standing now, it tells killer of the narrative that dokja is well clever to carry himself to the end, with or without its support. “ at least i could forgive you. “ as hellbent, it understands his intentions.
( and can you forgive him too, keva ? )
standing at the precipice of the answers he has been seeking for thirteen turbulent years and nearly a completed apocalypse doesn’t feel as triumphant as he thought it would. every step taken feels like three steps backwards. his only constant has been a singular constellation , unmatched by his now constantly wavering fourth wall skill. he’s not nervous — no , that’s not even a word in his dictionary — but he exhibits caution and more exorbitant planning. if anything , dokja is more than ready.
so , why now especially , does he feel that everything is coming crashing down ? he is reluctant to share uneasy thoughts with his companions , lest they see him as less competent and rely on him less. ( but haven’t they already discussed their distrust of him ? still , they unreasonably follow along with whatever he says. ) there is a different type of trust built between him and xem. both constellations : killer of the narrative and demon king of salvation. of course they find that they understand the world around them differently than the incarnations.
today’s understanding is that , in some roundabout manner , kim dokja is responsible for the apocalypse. the fourth wall skill flickers , leaving him for moments that slink into minutes , alone with the truth of his thoughts and lets him spiral. nothing in particular makes him come to this resolution , except for a sinking feeling in his gut. for all the sacrifice and selfless action , if he was the cause of yoo joonghyuk’s hellish cycles , will anyone grant him salvation ? will he be allowed the ending he desires ?
he does what is expected of him , and laughs , a scratchy and uncertain sound. “ if i lead them ” — his companions , the incarnations — “ to a happy ending , and in turn give up mine , will that be enough ? ” is it an equal enough exchange ? his eternal repentance for everyone else to live a life without scenarios ? “ would you stay with me , or join them in their ▇ ▇ ? ” a prewritten path , the illusion of choice.
