I caved and cleaned my whole house :(
Sorry for wanting someone with some type of ambition, and motivation in life, and a strong work ethic. I’m sorry that I need to see the effort put forth showing that you actually are capable of doing the things you say, and also want to do so. I work my ass of for everything I have, and deserve someone who will equally hold that responsibility. Remember talk is cheaper than bills.
Being inconsiderate.
Recently, a situation happened where two friends of mine who I thought was very considerate of someone's feelings is only so on a smaller scale but not on a larger scale and doesn't seem to understand the gravity of their actions and the consequences of them.
They both have taken advantage of their roommate's hospitality and patience to their advantage and when it has become inconvenient for that roommate to do a task (who end up doing it anyways), they neither find the need to apologize nor find reason that it is their fault.
The first friend (Z) had recently moved out of town with his boyfriend but as a last act of inconsideration, had stayed in the new apartment and called his now former roommate (D) to thank him for helping them move. Z had sent his boyfriend back to the old house to pack the rest of the heavy stuff into the moving truck. D did not originally agree nor was he informed that he was supposed to help them and had several assignments from school to finish. Z had just assumed that D was going to help move everything and so, stayed at the new place, probably doing nothing else. Z's boyfriend was now stuck with moving the heavy furniture himself. Of course D was not going to leave the boyfriend to fend for himself and so, sacrificed his time and effort to help move the rest of their belongings.
In a different story, my friend (A), living with roommate (T) was being visited by friend (K) who lives about 4 hours away. K was expected to come on Friday, which didn't happen. No big deal. I, myself, was hanging out with both of them watching tv shows. Other than that, we didn't have anything planned.
The next day, we were all meant to celebrate another friend's (S) birthday. A had gotten word that K was going to come on Saturday now but because A had to work until about mid afternoon, T had offered to stay at the apartment until K had showed up. This puts a stopper in the plans we had for S's birthday. Eventually A comes over to my place without T, who has said he would wait a little longer for K to show up. It wasn't until early evening, they get word that K isn't to show up until Sunday. At this point we're uneasy about the situation that A has put T into where we believe K is meant to be A's responsibility and not his roommates. A believes he shouldn't be blamed because T had volunteered to help. At this point, our plans for the day had been shifted greatly into the night which wasn't our intention but S enjoyed her birthday nonetheless.
Sunday rolls around and I come over to watch more tv with A and T. K is now meant to show up at 9pm that day. Again, no big deal, we were just watching shows. K finally arrives in the city but we had now gotten word that K doesn't have the address to the apartment. Mind you, A and T live in an area that's very tedious to get to, especially at night time. At this point T is pissed, as is S, as am I. K himself, does not have a phone because he "does not conform to society" (more or less what he says). Now all three of us are upset with A and tell him to him apologize to his roommate. Not only was he inconsiderate to his roommate, he just proved himself a terrible friend (which he usually isn't up front).
Both A and K apologized but to this day, (to my knowledge) A still does not know what he did wrong or understand why he needed to apologize.
