Abel had risen at sunset, not entirely sure when the last time he took a shower was. He availed himself of the bathroom, washed and swiped a clean shirt of Will’s. 

When he emerged Maddison was no where to be seen but he had a suspicion about where she was. 

With a light shirt half only half button and hair that remained uncombed, Abel transformed after flying up to the roof. He turned toward her voice after looking down at the borrowed shirt. “Do I?”

Frederick coughed, blood seeping from his mouth from where his jaw had been shattered from the bullet. He looked up at Maddison with one fully working eye. Where was he? Everything hurt.. “Maddison?”

Maddison frowned as she slowly came to, eyes moving toward the location of the voice. Where was she? Last she remembered she’d been at home, looking over a file and now she was...on a couch? A strange couch, shoes missing, and cold. Very cold. Running a hand over the side of her face, she sat up a little. “Where am I?” 

Sherlock stared into her eyes, examining her pupils against the light before looking around her head, through the light copper of her hair for any signs of a wound, or blood. She could have a concussion.

“You were unconscious in the middle of the forest.” He offered his hand to help her sit up on a fallen tree trunk. “And you’re barefoot. Are you hurt? What’s the last thing you remember?”

Bedelia knelt before her. She held her hand out,  but didn’t dare actually reaching out to touch her. She certainly didn’t want to spook her more than she already was. “You had to get away? Away from what?” She wasn’t exactly sure what she had walked into, but she felt nothing but the urge to help and protect. “What happened? Come... let’s get you up. No one is here, just me...”

He’d gotten the flu shot, honestly he had. But he still caught the flu, and, like always, it had led to pneumonia, and a hospitalization. He was connected to oxygen, because his doctor wasn’t happy with his levels, and he probably looked like death warmed over.

Worse, he’d forgotten his phone at home, so he hadn’t been able to update Maddison and Will as to where he was. Obviously, that was the wrong choice to make, if Maddison’s appearance in his hospital room was anything to go by.

“Sorry,” he rasped, holding out his hand to her. “I got pneumonia, and with my lungs,” he coughed, grabbing a tissue and ignoring the fact that it came away from his mouth with red on it, “With my lungs, I can’t handle that outside of a hospital. I forgot my phone at home, otherwise I would’ve called. I’m fine, really.”

“I could have called it sleeping, but I don’t think blacking out is necessarily in the same category. I might have had... a little too much whisky last night. My head feels like an old, broken down drum.”

The sound of the beeping machines made his teeth hurt, blaring in his already ringing ears as he tried to force his eyes open. Gavin could smell the room - cold and sterile smelling, with hints of his own sweat and...sickly sweet flowers. He groaned...the sound of his voice grating on his own nerves at how strained it sounded.
