I hc that Jay can cook really, really well. He just doesn't because he knows that it makes Zane feel useful and nice and relaxed when he gets to cook.
When he gets the chance, though, he cooks a nice romantic feast for himself and Nya. He sets it up with candles and roses and the nice silverware. ((He always tells Zane when he's about to do it so Zane can distract the others long enough for them not to forget that Jay and Nya are having their time. I mean, with their neurodivergent asses, they would definitely forget.) It's also for safety measures so Kai doesn't burn the place down when the two goofs hold hands or lady and the tramp the spaghetti. He's not mad. He is just so happy that his sister is happy and that it's because of his best friend)
