Summary: Only Seto Kaiba would wear himself thin to run an international charity event on Christmas Eve. And even more astounding was the number of people that had arranged vacations to participate. Of course, choosing somewhere warm to hold the event certainly didn’t hurt either.
The plane hit the tarmac, and only with these bumps did Seto finally blink open his eyes. “We’re here,” he announced, acting like he’d never been asleep.
Yugi attempted to hide his smile. “We are.”

Judai didn't understand it. He got his memories now, know who he is and what his powers are. He knows that his eyes shine golden whenever he uses a lot of power or is in war. The latter was a way of the Gentle Darkness to constantly supply him with magic to prevent exhaustion. There should be no reason for his eyes to be golden otherwise.
So why were his eyes golden now?
He frowned at his mirror image. His face was wet from when he tried to wash the gold away, but nothing he did worked. He watched as his eyes switched to Yubel's without any problems. Yet when he cut that power it wasn't familiar brown that greeted him. He ran a hand through his hair in frustration.
Despite Yubel's promise of them coming back to slay the Light there wasn't even any Light around. Not on Earth anyway. As much as he had wanted to make sure that everyone was okay, the magic that they used to travel through space was supposed to put them where they were most needed. But as far as he could tell there was nothing going on. It put him more on edge than the Light ever could.
Judai was scared. It was the reason why he hadn't placed the Sacred Beasts back into their prison yet. Their presence was too comforting to give up. In that same way the Evil Heroes had been comforting to have at the time even though he used them for terrible things. They had all fought by his side for so long and remained loyal through all his ups and downs. Spirits like those weren't spirits Judai was willing to loose. They were a bit like Yubel in that regard. Only a bit though, because there hasn't been anyone quite like Yubel yet and he doubted that there ever would be.
He glared at his reflection when he saw himself trembling. He hated this. Hated not knowing what was going on. Knowledge had been denied for him too long. So many people had suffered because of it, Yubel had suffered because of it. Hell, it had almost been the end of the universe. And now that he finally knew the universe decided to hit him with another unknown.
Strong arms wrapped around him and he let himself drown in Yubel's calmness. It was nice being able to take on Yubel's emotions when his own got too much. A kiss was placed on his hair as Yubel pressed their body against his. He eagerly soaked in their warmth.
"Don't worry. We'll deal with it like we dealt with everything else before it," Yubel promised.
"I guess." Judai sighed. "I just wish I knew what we were up against. I don't like not knowing."
"I know, but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough."
Judai hummed. He knew he had to accept it, no matter how much he hated it. "You got anything for hiding these?"
"I might have a few ideas." Yubel brushed his bangs out of his eyes. "I hope you don't mind being a test subject."
"As long as you're the one doing the testing I'll be fine."
Yubel's hand moved lower and covered his eyes. "Shall we begin then?"

maize - share the weirdest encounter you’ve had with a stranger on the street.
I don’t have a lot of this because I don’t spend a whole lot of time on the street with strangers, its super rural where I am, don’t do a lot of walking. But I was waiting in line for a concert on a street in philly once, and this car goes by, windows down, and someone in the car just fuckin screeched like a pterodactyl. Me, and like 3 or 4 of the other people standing around in line, at the same time, were just like “Same.”

Summary: Yubel is sick after training their transformation. Judai takes care of them.
Yubel groaned in relief as Judai put a wet cloth on their forehead, their third eye firmly shut. Their whole body was burning up from the inside, yet they were so very cold. Judai had buried them beneath several blankets on their shared bed. The fact that Yubel couldn't even feel the discomfort for lying on their wings was probably a bad sign.
"A godsend," Yubel muttered when Judai wiped some sweat from their face.
"Stop being so dramatic. You did this to yourself."
"Doesn't change the fact that you're a godsend."
"Complimenting me won't make me forget how stupid you were to mess with your transformation like that."
"And I keep telling you that I could feel something more there. I think I might have a third form." The thought was quite exiting. A form even bigger and more powerful than their second one. With a power like that, they'd be able to protect Judai perfectly.
"Whenever or not you have one doesn't matter if using your second form already makes you this sick."
Sadly, he was right. There was no way Yubel would manage to actually reach the third form yet no matter how close it seemed. Not when they still had problems with having two heads and a tail. And fur. So much fur. Almost everywhere. It always left Yubel's body far to warm afterwards just like now. Yubel pulled the blankets up further and pouted.
Judai sighed. "Look... You'll be strong enough to reach that third form one day, okay? But for now don't overdo it. You'll get the chance to show off soon enough."
Well, when he put it that way. "I can do that."
"Promise?"
"I promise."
Judai pressed a quick kiss onto one of their cheeks. He gathered the used cloths and water basin to change them out.
"Oh and Judai?" Yubel asked as he opened the door.
"Yes?"
"I love you."
Judai send them a soft smile. "I love you too, idiot dragon." The door closed behind him with a soft click.

Prompt: Afterlife (Yugiotober) & Hallucination (Whumptober)
Characters: Judai, Abidos the Third
Ship: Proposalshipping
Warnings: Past Canonical Character Death, Wrongfully Assumed Character Death
Summary: Judai finally reunited with Abidos. He did, didn't he?
It took Judai a bit to remember where he was when he opened his eyes. The sandy stone was slowly becoming more familiar, yet it wasn't a clear indicator. Abidos' face on the other hand was. Judai relaxed with his head resting in Abidos' lab. The same position he'd fallen asleep in.
Right. He was dead. He hadn't quite managed the 100 years he asked Abidos for, but that was fine. He managed to do everything he wanted anyway. They had their duel just as promised and many many duels after it. What could he say? Dueling with Abidos was a lot of fun.
Abidos smiled down at him. Soft fingers ran through Judai's hair. "You're awake. That's good."
Judai hummed. "How long did I sleep?"
"A while. You even overslept a bit," he teased. "But I'm sure it will be fine."
"Nice." Judai closed his eyes again. Abidos was warm and his skilled hands in Judai's hair made it so easy to fall asleep to. He yawned.
"Hey now, love. Don't go back to sleep."
"But you're comfy."
Abidos laughed. "That's good to know, but I'm afraid you can't stay here."
Judai sat up, starring at him with wide eyes. "What? Why?"
"Because you're needed elsewhere now." His hands moved to cup Judai's face. "But remember that I'll be waiting for you here, no matter how long it takes. We will meet again, my love. Of that I'm sure."
Abidos sealed the promise with a kiss. The touch of his lips so fleeting, yet burned into Judai's memory just like the first touch of their hands years ago. Judai leaned into it despite his confusion. He chased Abidos' fading warmth. Desperately clung onto the feeling in his body only Abidos was able to coax out.
And then it was all gone.
When Judai opened his eyes again, he was back in that room filled with darkness and mirrors. He shivered. Had... had he been here this whole time? Had everything with Abidos been a lie? No, it couldn't be. It had felt so very real. Abidos had been so very real. Surely that couldn't have all been a fabrication of his mind, right?
But what did real even mean?
Judai's head snapped up when mirrors started to shatter all around him. A tiny orb of red light flew through the darkness. It left the darkness itself untouched and only went after the mirrors. With every shattered one Judai felt like he weighted a little less, felt his mind clear a little more. The red light felt familiar. Like a trusted friend.
It became apparent why when it turned into Jim. The bandages over his right eye were missing, revealing that red glow. Jim was clearly relieved to see him. He held out a hand for Judai to take. "Let's get out of here."
You're needed elsewhere now.
It didn't matter if that Abidos had been real or not, Judai would meet the real one again someday. He could ask him then if it had been real. But for now he would do whatever he needed to. It didn't matter if he was just a fragment of Judai's imagination. Abidos was someone Judai didn't want to let down. And he won't.

Prompt: Tears (Yugiotober) & "Stay quiet.” (Whumptober)
Characters: Judai, Yubel, Judai’s parents
Ship: None
Warnings: Child Abuse
Summary: Judai just wished that his parents would stop fighting.
Judai flinched as something hit the wall in the living room. His parents were fighting again. That's the only thing they did these days. Work and fight. About each other, about Yubel, about Judai. Judai wished that they'd come home less. It was easier for everyone when they were doing their own thing.
As it was, Judai would have to be the one to leave the house. Again. He carefully tip toed past the closed living room door. Not much further and he could get out. He'd stay away for a few hours like he always did, maybe even buy some dinner.
He bit his lip when he felt Yubel's hands cover his ears. It helped block out the sound, but the words had long since been burned into his brain.
Take better care of your demon spawn!
MY demon spawn? If you didn't give him that card we wouldn't be in this situation!
We wouldn't be in this situation if you acted like a proper mother!
Raising a child isn't only the mother's job! If you hate having a kid so much, why did you stop me from getting rid of him?
Judai tried to blink the blurriness of his vision away. No, he couldn't cry. Not now. Yet his body refused to listen. He could feel the sobs trying to force their way out of his mouth.
Yubel kissed the top of his head. Calm flowed into him through that bond he had with no other monster before Yubel. It was followed by words. Spoken in that voice only he could ever hear.
"Stay quiet. You're doing so good. Just a little longer. You're almost there. You're being so strong."
Judai gritted his teeth and endured. He swallowed down his sobs and ignored the sound of more things breaking. Just long enough until he had his shoes on and closed the door behind him. He ran away as fast as he could. Tears freely streamed down his face. Yubel still right beside him.
