Review: Screaming Down Splitsville

I’ve read a lot of novels, long and short, and usually I’m not one to review, rarely do I do it but I thought hey why not.

I’ve been looking to expand my personal library with more queer novels and stories, the first currently being Screaming Down Splitsville by Kalya Bashe. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised when I read it. Flip was an adorable character from start to finish. No spoilers yo but I loved how real Flip felt and evolved as the story went along and how she overcame herself to help the person she loved.

I love how Emma grow through out the story and it was interesting to see the two’s dynamic as they fought to stay free. I have to say the story was very well written and I’m only sad that it was so short. The story wasn’t heavily loaded with background information and the background information given was nicely integrated into the story through Flip or Emma. It was nice to get a taste of the world that Flip and Emma were a part of without being tossed into it.

The story was paced well and didn’t jump around from past to present which was a relief for me since that tends to get confusing. Sorry readers but I just really loved Flip’s character. She was such a cutie and cinnamon roll but still really strong and endearing! Haha excuse me for fangirling over Flip, Emma was actually written very well as well. She was a believable character and hella strong, especially given the terrible background she came from. She was a gem and I really do recommend this book for anyone looking for something cute but exciting and short.

Starstream Academy Edition 2

So after the reviews I got on Starstream I pulled it and rewrote the whole thing and now its done! Its has a new plot and characters and I need an editor now. I first want to get through some edits by myself then send it off when the royalties for the first book come in in a two to three weeks.
