I managed to get into my old account and I can’t find it in my old favorites or anything I think the creator may have deleted it but I’m dying to find the title, I can’t be imagining this very specific memory. This is going to haunt me...
So I had been writing Masquerades, Movies, and Mouths (Chapter One, Chapter Two) and a couple of people asked me if I was going to do a Tom and Tempest story on the side. I thought about it and HELL YES. What a fantastic idea! So, I'll be trying to keep these two stories as close as possible while each still being its own. Now, enjoy!
Chapter One
I walked briskly up the steps. Today, was the day. I could feel it. I was going to get this part. I needed to get this part.
Brynns career was taking off faster than mine and it had been putting a slight strain between us. Yes, we were best friends but, I wanted to be able to pay my half of the bills as well. I knew she didn’t mind. It had started bothering me though. I was a grown woman. I had picked this path in my life and I needed to get my butt in gear.
I had been hoping she would pull her head out of her ass about Benedict though. He had looked like he really liked her at the party. Even completely drunk, I had seen the great chemistry between them. I also had a weird feeling I might have broke up a little make out session between them. Like I said, I was drunk not blind. I knew sex hair when I seen it.
She's so going to fuck that up, I sighed to myself heavily. She was just so stubborn sometimes.
As I walked through the rotating doors into the lobby, my nerves started catching up with me.
Stop worrying. They wouldn’t have called you back in if you weren’t a contender.
I walked past the stylish black leather couches to the large reception desk. A pretty brunette looked up at me with one of the most fake smiles I had ever seen.
“May I help you?”
“Yes. My name is Tempest O'hara. I have a 4 o'clock call back.”
“Do you know which director?”
“No, I'm sorry. They were keeping everything pretty closed mouth.” I said as I started feel my anxiety rise. What if I got turned away because they couldn’t find out where my appointment was?
A small frown appeared between the brunettes eyes. “Give me one moment. If you would like to take a seat, I can get this straightened out.” she muttered while still scrolling and staring at the screen built into the desk. As she stood and pushed her chair back, her eyes finally met mine.
“One moment.”
I was beginning to feel even more uneasy. Why the hard frown? I watched her swipe a card next to the door on the left and walk through.
Ookayyyy.
I walked over and sat down in the chair. One minute later I was shooting up to pace. I couldn't help bouncing back on my heels then sitting again. I wanted this part so bad I could taste it. They had already picked the male lead and once they picked the female from the last of us, it was going to be a mad dash to get them over to London to start filming. I had never been to London and that reason alone was enough for me to want this part. I also wanted it because it would be my first period piece. It could really shoot my career to the next place I needed to be. There was even rumors floating around that a couple of big stars had gotten involved.
I crossed my fingers hard. Please. Please. Please.
The door cracked open and a pretty little blonde stuck her head out.
"Tempest O'Hara?"
"Yep, that's me." I said brightly as I stood and walked over. She gave me a small smile and pushed the door the rest of the way open.
"If you'll follow me, please."
I could feel my pulse racing as I followed her down a stylish hallway to a pair of double doors at the end.
"Just go right in. They are expecting you." the little blonde said after a quick rap on the door. She turned on her heel and headed back to her desk off to the right.
“Enter.” A deep voice said from the other side.
Deep Breath! I thought to myself. I put my hand on the handle and slowly opened the door.
There was a long table with two men sitting at it and one man standing looking out the window. I recognized one as Tom Stoppard, who had wrote 'Shakespeare in Love' and one as Joe Wright who directed one of my favorite movies, 'Pride and Prejudice'. The last man however was still facing away.
I nearly tripped on my heels when I realized who would be on the crew. These were some of the greatest movie makers of our time and I was maybe going to get to work with them.
I finally got myself under control and walked over to the table. Holding out my hand, I put on my best smile.
“Hello, gentlemen. My name is Tempest O'Hara.”
Tom stood first and clasped my hand warmly. Giving me a firm shake I kept good eye contact as he finally released my hand. “Hello, my name is Tom Stoppard. I was very impressed with your first audition video. You have a great passion in your work.”
I felt myself blush slightly. Keep it together, keep it together.
Joe extended his hand next. “Hello, Tempest. I also enjoyed your tape. We like the vibe and feel you give the character. If you wouldn’t mind sitting down, I'd like you to go over a couple of lines in the script to help us make our final decision.” He picked up a small packet of papers and handed it over to me. I took them with a smile and sat down in the chair across from them.
“Will one of you be reading my opposite?” I said after sliding a look at the man still looking out of the window. He seemed very familiar with his A line stance.
“Our friend here will be. You may start anytime you feel ready.” Joe said after waving a hand towards the mystery man.
Okay?
I looked down at the packets for a couple of minutes. I had a photographic memory which came in very handy for on the spot interviews. “How much would you like me to read?”
“Lets just start with that page and if we need more, we came move on to the next.” Joe said with a easy smile.
I gave a slight nod. I set the packet back on the table then stood and walked over to the mystery man. I could do this. I could give them a line reading that they wouldn’t forget anytime soon.
“When you leave here, am I ever to see you again?” I said low and softly. The man I was in love with was leaving for war. A war that had already took so many men and now it was here to take mine.
I saw the mystery man realize what I was doing when he stiffened slightly. I don't think he realized until that moment that I planned to act out the whole scene and not just read lines. I was worried he wouldn’t go along. However, he slumped his shoulders and went along almost instantly.
You wanted a read through, buddy? I'll give you a fantastic one. Complete with all acting.
“You know I have no choice. I either go to war or I go to prison. I'm begging you to understand.” He replied softly. He was good. He slid easily into the character with me. His voice seemed very familiar still. Even more so with his British accent.
“I do understand. Understanding doesn’t make it easier though. I'm in a country that is not my own, in love with a Captain who is about to be sent off to war.” I stepped the last step closer and slid my arms around him while pressing my head between his shoulders. “What will I do if something happens to you? We finally have everything ready for us to be married and your being ripped away from me.” I let a soft sob come out at the end. His hands came up to cover mine.
“Darling-”
“No, they wont take you away before I get to call you mine at least one night. You leave here tomorrow and I may never see you again. Stay the night with me. Let me be yours and you be mine.” I whispered forcefully while my fingers clenched his shirt in the front.
He turned in my arms and I finally got one tear to escape down my face. I closed my eyes before he could turn all the way around in my arms. I didn’t want seeing his face to throw my performance.
I let my lower lip tremble. His large hand cupped my chin and brushed his thumb across the lone tear and then my mouth.
“I love you. So much. MaryAnn-” Was ghosted across my lips then his mouth met mine. He slowly coaxed my mouth open with his.
Man, if only this man was my co-star.
He could defiantly kiss. I wasn’t even acting by that point. My hands slid up his neck into his hair as he deepened the kiss and pulled me tight into his body. I felt one of his hands move down to my lower back and arch my hips into his. Moaning low in my throat, I tightened my grip on his hair. An answering moan came from his mouth into mine.
It was, hands down one, of the best kisses of my life.
Well, It was until a discreet cough brought us back into reality. I jumped slightly and pulled my mouth away from Mystery Mans.
Moment of truth, I thought as I slowly opened my eyes.
Don’t freak out, don’t freak out!
Tom Hiddleston. Tom-freaking-Hiddleston. I was currently in his arms and was just kissing Tom Hiddleston.
It took every acting skill in my body to remove my hands from his hair and step back. Taking a deep breath I gave him a smile. “That was wonderful! Thank you for doing the read through with me. I'm a fan of your work and you don't disappoint.” I could be professional. I was doing good so far.
A small stretched across his face. “You were as fantastic as I had hoped. We have a great chemistry that I feel will really set this movie off.”
I felt my smile slip a little. We? Had I got the part? And if I had was he going to be in the movie somewhere?
“Tempest, we would love to offer you the part. Today was just to make sure you would have a good connection with our leading man, who if you hadn’t figured it out by now, will be played by Tom here.” Stoppard said as he stood and gathered up the papers.
Joe stood up next to him as well. “I'll have our people get a hold of your agent with all of the details. I do want to warn you though that you will be leaving for London in the next week so that you will have time to pack.” He walked around the desk and held out his hand. “You were brilliant. A perfect choice.”
I shook his hand, dazed. I had got the part. I felt a hand come to rest on my lower back.
“I think shes a little in shock.” Tom said with his trademark 'eheheh' laugh.
I realized I was still shaking Joe's hand an hadn’t even said thank you. “Oh I'm so sorry. Yes, thank you so much!”
Joe took his hand back finally. “I'll see you next week miss O'Hara. Get plenty of rest because the next few months will be pretty hectic.” He shook hands with Tom too then left the room. Stoppard walked up to us next.
“You guys are going to be great. Great chemistry. Great acting. You could be a very solid duo.” After final and shakes and a 'see you in the car' to Tom he followed Joe out.
I finally turned towards Tom. 'Thank you so much for going along earlier.”
“It was my pleasure. I liked that you went for it completely. It shows me you really want to do this movie and as part of producing as well as acting in it, that defiantly puts my mind at ease on if I chose the right actress or not. Plus, we had good chemistry. So I wont have to worry about it being to awkward for the love scene.” Tom said with a big smile on his face. He was so nice-
Wait? Love scene? What?
“Love scene?”
“Yes, after the scene we just did is a love scene. No worries though. It's more of a classy one. We won't even be showing any of your lovely bits. Although, my arse does make an appearance.” He said with humor in his eyes. I could tell he was trying to put my mind at ease.
“Well, I'm sure people will be much more interested in your bum than my lovely bits.”
“I wouldn’t be too sure of that.” He replied back. Did I just see a flash of something close to lust in his eyes? Tom Hiddleston want me? That was a joke. Keep dreaming Tempest.
“Well, I should probably head out of here. It was great to meet you and I cant wait to start working with you.” I said brightly while sticking my hand out.
“Me either,” he replied as his large hand closed over mine. “Allow me to walk you down to your car?”
“Erh, of course. But I took a taxi” I said dumbly.
“Lead the way. I'll hail one down for you.” Humor had crept back into his eyes.
He was laughing at me. What a little shit.
I straightened my shoulders and turned away from him. I could feel my red head temper peeking through. I was also pretty sure I heard his 'eheheheh' lowly being laughed behind me.
I was already out the door by the time that he caught up to me. Not that it took much with those long legs of his. I was barley 5'6 so I felt small, very small, next to his 6'2 frame. Not that I minded much when he had bent over and kissed me.
Stahhhppppp. I chided myself. Guys like Tom Hiddleston don’t go for girls like you.
We finally walked through the lobby doors and he walked to the road to wave me down a cab. As he was waving at cars I giggled a little. He kind of looked like a dork all gangly waving around. He heard my laugh and turned towards me smiling.
“Are you laughing at me Miss O'Hara?”
“Maybe just a little.” I said with a big smile.
“Well, laugh all you like. I'm going to get on one of these blasted cab's to stop.”
I walked up next to him on the curb and let out a loud whistle. A taxi instantly pulled up next to us. I looked up to at him. He was trying to pout but the merit in his eyes was ruining the effect.
“You will have to teach me to whistle like that before the end of this movie.”
“I still cant believe I got the part.” I breathed out. I was still a little in shock.
His eyes lost a little of the humor. “Why not you?”
I barley knew him so I wasn’t about to blurt out my insecurities out to him. “I just figured they would have wanted a more seasoned actress.”
I could tell he didn’t by it but he was too polite to call me out on it.
He opened the door to the taxi for me and handed me down into it. He draped an arm over the door and an arm over the top and leaned down.
“I think I picked the perfect person for the job.” He grabbed my hand and pressed a gentle kiss to the knuckles before straightening. “Enjoy your week Miss O'Hara and I'll see you in London.
“Thank you, Tom. You as well.”
He gently closed the door and tapped lightly on the top of the cab. It took everything in me not to look back at him as we moved away.
I opened our front door and called out Brynn's name. Now that I wasn’t around Tom and it had sunk in I had got the part I was all giddy. I noticed her purse throw on the floor so she was here somewhere. Probably her room.
I rushed up the stairs and bust in her room. “I got it! I got the part!” I said excitedly as I hopped onto my knees onto her bed. “You’ll never guess who my co-star is either! Go on! Guess!”
“Ummmm-” Brynn replied. Man, did she look guilty today. Must have been a hell of a meeting.
“Tom Hiddleston! Can you believe it? I got cast in a period piece with Tom freaking-Hiddleston! Oh my God, that man is so sexy. And tall! I felt so short next to him! Oh, and hes super nice and has this great laugh. I'll be leaving for London in the next week! Can you believe it? It's finally happening!” I noticed Brynn seemed zoned out. Normally, I would have given her crap for not paying attention and being happy for me finally getting my shot. Something must have really went wrong. Did she lose the part?
“So, enough about me and my sexy new co-star. How did it go seeing Mr. Sexybatch again?”
She bit her lip and looked away.
GUILTY. GUILTY. GUILTY.
“Nothing happened. I’m sure he doesn’t even remember me.”
I decided not to mention the small hickey on her neck that hadn’t been there this morning.
Okay dokie guys! I'm liking where this is going so far :D I'll be updating this alternating if not at the same time as MMM so that the stories stay close. Let me know what you thought!
