Day 30 - A book or series I would recommend to fellow fans

Nothing else in the YA Post-Apocalyptic Fiction genre. The Hunger Games is such high quality everything else I've ever tried to read has just seemed too TEEN!1!

I personally like fantasy and period timepieces. I don't know. If you're a sensitive person don't read books that'll make you angry because it'll ruin a good portion of your day. Uhm... and read books, kids. They're good for your brain and keep you from becoming insensitive dicks. :D Just pick 'em up and read don't spend too much time pondering what you might like. That's how you really explore. Stay away from housewife porn and shoddily written fanfiction. It's not realistic and it's cheesy as all get out. Yes, it gets worse than Twilight.

Day 29 - Favorite Thing About Entire Series

The political and social metaphor. As much as it hurt me, a fifteen year old American girl, to realize that my country was essentially the Capitol of countries, it helped to shape me. I became more conscientious about what I could do to help people. This was also the time I discovered that slavery still existed. I didn't want to be among the throngs of people that go through life essentially ignoring what they can't fight from their computer. 

The depth of this book is amazing and fantastic. I plan to have my children study it, if I have kids, because there's an important lesson and a lot of compassion to be learned from reading this series.

Day 28 - A Favorite Scene In Mockingjay

What favorite scene? There's a favorite scene? Maybe the scene where Peeta is back but he chokes Katniss?? There's too many destroyed feels in Mockingjay. No favorite scene.

Day 27 - Favorite Quote From CF

“No one really needs me," he says, and there's no self pity in his voice. It's true his family doesn't need him. They will mourn him, as will a handful of friends. But they will get on. Even Haymitch, with the help of a lot of white liquor, will get on. I realize only one person will be damaged beyond repair if Peeta dies. Me. "I do," I say. "I need you." he looks upset, takes a deep breath as if to begin a long argument, and that's no good, no good at all, because he'll start going on about Prim and my mother and everything and I'll just get confused. So before he can talk, I stop his lips with a kiss.” 

Aww, I was so happy that Katniss finally admitted she loved Peeta. I absolutely loved him at this point.

Day 26 - Favorite Scene from THG

“Peeta sighs. "Well, there is this one girl. I’ve had a crush on her ever since I can remember. But I’m pretty sure she didn’t know I was alive until the reaping." Sounds of sympathy from the crowd. Unrequited love they can relate to. She have another fellow?" asks Caesar. I don’t know, but a lot of boys like her," says Peeta. So, here’s what you do. You win, you go home. She can’t turn you down then, eh?" says Caesar encouraging-ly. I don’t think it’s going to work out. Winning...won’t help in my case," says Peeta. Why ever not?" says Caesar, mystified. Peeta blushes beet red and stammers out. "Because...because...she came here with me.” 

My poor little 14 year old heart could hardly take this. I was still reeling from the rush of Prim getting picked and Katniss volunteering. I almost (almost) cried, 25% out of crushing feels that Peeta has to fight Katniss, 75% out of embarrassment for poor Katniss. Instead of crying, however, I just said "WHOA SHIT."

Wow, I cussed a lot reading this series... but I haven't been as excited since.

Day 18 - A song that reminds you of the series: Devil May Cry by The Weeknd

I know this was written for Catching Fire, but it's so. On. POINT.

I don't think I could ever find a song so in tune with the story and it's underlying theme if I listened to every song ever written. It's amazing! That, and the music is so beautiful and intense. He has the beat sounding like a ticking clock and his voice is wailing with the emotional weight of this story it's just so perfect! Give him all the awards.
