eli is the male tribute reaped from district 3 for the 72nd annual hun.ger ga.mes (1 year after joh.anna wins and 2 years before kat.niss and pe.eta are reaped and win). their main industry is technology which we know he is skilled at using / making / etc.

he's 16 when he is picked, making him 19 during the third quarter quell and happenings thereafter circa the mock.ingjay timeline.

he goes into his games timid and frightful (ie s1 of ck pre script flip), but he's very good at hiding & ultimately his intelligence makes him skilled at using his surroundings and adapting. as the games go on, his angry side he's always kept at bay begins to come out and that anger guides him towards ultimate victory.

fate or curse, he is mentor to the young girl tribute from 3 the following year, and it weighs heavily on him when she dies. this loss makes him dive further into the idea of rebelling & he manages to discover dist.rict 13 was not in fact destroyed and he begins to plan behind the scenes a way to get there and become part of the revolution.

he's, luckily, not reaped in the third qu.arter qu.ell, though he's weary of the capitol and their plans. shortly after the tributes are shipped off, eli makes his break and flees to where he has located dis.trict 13, wanting to be part of what will inevitably come next.

he is part of the rebellion during mocki.ngjay, using his technological skills and spying / hacking where needed

after co.in is killed & sn.ow dies and things begin to move forward, eli returns back to his district determined to do something good for himself and for his community.

short thg verse summary! izzie is from district 6... her father was already married when he had an affair with izzie's mom and he refused to take responsibility for izzie or her mother, so she was raised with very little. when she was old enough, she tried taking various odd jobs she could find to support both her and her mother as well as taking out tesserae. when izzie's fifteen years old, she falls in love with one of the boys working in one of the factories. she becomes pregnant. the boy cuts ties with her, having mainly been into her just for her looks, and nasty rumors spread about izzie, resulting in her becoming ostracised from the rest of the district. knowing she has no way of supporting a child, she brokers a deal with one of the richer families in district 6. the wife had been unable to bear children, so izzie gives up her baby to them in exchange for a few month's supply of food. in the end it's not about the food for izzie, but about wanting her baby to have a better life. the story others hear is that izzie lost the baby in a miscarriage. a year later at sixteen years old, a few months after having given up her daughter, she gets reaped for the 62th hunger games (i am changing enoboria to winning the 61th hunger games it just works better for me age wise sorry). while she isn't seen as one of the stronger tributes, she does become pretty popular because of her looks. just like back at home, she uses this to her advantage to get sponsors, while simultaneously working the angle of appearing as a slightly ditzy blonde. when she's in the arena, her smarts really show themselves and she's able to survive and hold her own, eventually winning her games. when she returns home as a victor, her reputation has suddenly turned shining, but izzie doesn't forget the way she or her mother were treated before and closes herself off from the rest of her district folk. much like the other victors popular for their looks, izzie becomes a sought after prize. izzie does what it takes to survive. just as she has always done. she mentors young new tributes every year and goes along with capitol life. just after the 74th hunger games, izzie falls sick with an illness even the capitol can't cure. by the time of the quarter quell, it's becoming almost impossible to hide. she knows she's dying. part of her wants to volunteer to take the place of one of the morphlings, but she's aware a rebellion is brewing and she thinks she's of more help outside of the arena. izzie does what she can to aid haymitch, plutarch and the rest of the resistance within the capitol. when the forcefield around the arena gets blown up, izzie is one of the victors taken by the capitol. in most verses, she will not make it out, succumbing to her sickness before they are freed. in some others, she will be freed together with the remaining victors, only to live a short life in district 13 and a subsequent liberated panem before she will inevitably die of her illness.

@the-immortals-assistant​   :   anyone who has an inkling of common (fashion) sense knows that the best part of the games are the traditions that proceed the arena. the chariots, the interviews, anything and everything that puts the talent of the capitol’s stylists on display ... although talent is lacking in recent years. there are only so many ways you can dress children up as trees before it becomes derivative, and that number is twice. district four is one of amira’s personal favorites, however — the theme of the sea is striking when executed well.

“it is a beautiful dress, one of my personal favorites this evening,”  amira attempts to convey warmth, when there will always be a cold barrier between tribute and the elite gathered to watch them die.  “i must compliment your stylists later,”  she chuckles.  “— how are you enjoying the capitol? it must be very different from your home.”

Anya’s father, Nicholas, served as the vice president of the Capitol throughout majority of Coriolanus Snow’s term as president. The Romanovs are related to the Snow family through her mother, Alexandra, who is Snow’s first cousin. Snow was known to poison some of the members of his cabinet as he believed they would become enemies, but since Nicholas was family, he, his wife and children were exempt from this. Though it is, however, believed that he may have intentionally made the Romanov children horribly sick once when Nicholas questioned one of his courses of action. They survived, but each of them hemorrhaged and nearly died while under hospitalization. Like most Capitol residents, Anya grew up with the games although her mother forbid her and her siblings to watch the live casts until they were old enough, often saying one of them had fallen ill and the others had contracted it since they were always together. Nicholas and Alexandra didn’t approve of the games but they kept this secret, knowing what it would mean if the truth was found out. Snow always had his suspicions, but Anya and her siblings were sickly children and it wasn’t uncommon for them to be sick all at the same time.

The first Hunger Games she and her siblings get to watch is the 65th games when she’s fifteen. Since she had a very sheltered upbringing about them, Anya never realized how horrible they actually were until she sat through the reaping and looked at the faces of the tributes. The fact that she knew twenty-three of them would die in a matter of weeks gave her such an awful feeling in the pit of her stomach. From that point on, Anya quickly caught on to Snow’s true character; she saw how exhilarated the games made him and it disgusted her, but she also knew better than to let it show. She was glad to know that her siblings shared the same sentiments, so from a young age, they mastered how to mask what they really felt about the games, clapping and whooping whenever needed to make it seem like they enjoyed them.

Early on in the Second Rebellion, Nicholas is forced to step down as vice president and the position is removed completely along with several other members of the cabinet, Snow wanting more power to himself. Plutarch Heavensbee approaches him and Alexandra not long after, telling them that Snow would not hesitate to assassinate them and their children and that he was the one appointed for the execution. Plutarch proceeds to inform them of the conspiracy to overthrow the Snow regime and of the underground existence of District 13, saying that he could smuggle them out, which they agree to. Unfortunately, Snow manages to poison both Nicholas and Alexandra before the escape, leaving just the children for Plutarch to smuggle out of the capitol. To cover their tracks and leave an easier explanation to the absence of their bodies, he plants a bomb in the Romanov mansion and lets it explode once Anya and her siblings are on their way to District 13.

john jacob had been sneaking into the wilderness outside district twelve for years now, using the tranquility to both clear his head and hunt for illegal game; being the poorest district and raised by a man who's money was spent on anything other than food, it was the only way to survive other than taking out tesserae. this would be his last reaping and it was a miracle that his name had not been plucked yet. he turns his head, chewing the last of the bread that he had insisted @carraeras take most of, and purses his lips tightly after swallowing. “ this is the last time we'll be together before reaping in a few days, ” he admits, debating whether or not to voice what had been plaguing his mind during the lead up. there had been a niggling inside of him, one that convinced him that john jacob would hear his name called by the escort and he'd find himself whisked to the capitol to prepare for the games. “ and i don't think i'll see you again. ”
