the fact that Daniel Sharman was seen on set and joined the Teen Wolf cast at Epix and Chill just solidifies my theory for the movie:

So from the trailer and bts, the main info we know:

Allison is back, resurrected from the dead or something of the sort

The person who raised her was influenced by the Nogitsune, and was told that retribution would be given to Scott and his pack

A new character, Hikari, is said to host the Kitsune spirit

A masked figure is seen spreading Mountain Ash across the borders of the school or hospital

Combined with what we know from Season 3 and Season 6's ending:

The Nogitsune spirit was removed from Stiles in the form of a fly

Isaac catches the fly and traps it in a jar with a triskelle on it

Isaac shortly goes to France to mourn Allison, where he stays for the rest of the show

Obviously, Isaac was impacted quite heavily by Allison's death

So my theory basically goes:

Isaac, who is still in possession of the Nogitsune fly creature, resurrected Allison

For some reason, it goes wrong, and Allison comes back to Beacon Hills, looking for Scott and his pack

Isaac is the masked character we see scattering Mountain Ash, trying to fix his mistake

The use of Mountain Ash as an effective barrier proves that neither Corey nor Theo will be returning, because chimera are immune to Mountain Ash. Yes, this shatters my Thiam and Morey heart as well.

In my opinion, this is kind of a far reach, but Isaac's rage when Allison died could have been channelled into spite towards Scott, which is why the Nogitsune was able to bait and influence him to hunting Scott and his pack
