Here's one for the haters.
I couldn't give a toss whether Sophie Hunter is a successful actress/model/theatre director/opera director. She could be a hairdresser, a stay at home mum, a nuclear scientist. She could be amazing at what she does, she could be rubbish. Don't care.
None of it changes the facts that she is legally married to Cumberbatch, they have three children, a number of houses and they live together. I cannot personally attest to their happiness but I do know people who have worked with him and people in their wider circle and if there was even the slightest hint of any accusation that the haters make being true (from the very largest thing to the smallest) there would be gossip and rumours in the industry. I'm almost never surprised by the latest 'actor x visits prostitutes', 'actor y has an eating disorder', 'actor z is a lovely woman who embroiders swear words onto teatowels' because I've heard it all weeks, month or years before. Of course people gossip about them but it's all benign ordinary stuff (sometimes tinged with a little jealousy at the luck he has had in his career).
I don't make up lies about people, their friends, their wider circle, any person they have ever interacted with. Nor do I stalk those people, dox them, pester their employers, send them regular insults or accuse them of crimes. I don't accuse every legal official in a country of being corrupt or every prominent person of being a (comicbook) satanist. I do care that this is being done to many people by the haters and where I can I speak up about the lies.
And, I can tell a real person from an imaginary one.
