Aloha, all! Here's my Calabash comic strip featured today in today's Honolulu Star-Advertiser newspaper! •2020 has really affected our lives! I wonder if kids are asking questions like: Does Santa wear a mask? Does Santa go to places that are in lockdown? Should Santa visit houses and eat random cookies and milk from people? Isn't Santa old, so really susceptible to Covid? - More so I'm curious how parents are responding to these questions 😊 •I had another idea, but shelved it because I am hoping that this will be the only year I can use this gag because things will be back to normal before Christmas 2021 🙂 •That being said - this is my final comic strip for the year! I HAVE MORE KIDS

Okay, so I work with kids, and I’m spending five days away from home with a new job. Anyway, I heard two things. One was a sister telling her younger brother that he acts like a girl because he liked to wear dresses, and put his hair in ponytails, and I had to keep myself from laughing as the kid used typical masculine stereotypes to defend himself. The second thing was in the afternoon, where some of the female identifying kids were playing with dolls, and one said something about how because she had more babies, she was superior. I could almost hear the parents on the other side of the building cringe. Alright, welp. That’s my kid post of the day.

back to the sandwich..

so, before bedtime last night, while they're reading news, (it's a routine that we've decided for their languages learning!)

I asked them if they'll want to text me what they want for the school the next day...

and I asked them too,

if they prefer to have "mistake" just like today,

or a guarenteed-correct snack box...

both of them voted for the former,

and I told them, that's what I prefer too...

we're a family~ 

we like "surprises" and "hiccups" like this, and we think it added more fun to daily routines...
