This book broke my heart into a million pieces. Quinn Sullivan is heartbroken after her boyfriend, Trent, dies in a tragic accident. His organs are harvested for donation, which leaves Quinn hoping that her letters to the donors will be answered. She grows desperate to find who has received his heart, as this is the one letter she never received a response to. She searches the internet using dates and location information, finally coming across a name of a heart transplant recipient: Colton Thomas. She goes to visit his nearby town, not to meet him, but just to see him. They end up bumping into each other and talking, which leads to a friendship that grows into a sweet yet complex romance. I read this novel on a 5 hour plane ride and could not put it down. It was THAT good. Kirby sets up the conflict in such a way that the reader can predict some of what is to come, but not all of the twists and turns, which makes for one original and well-developed novel.
