concept: thingrey getting very emotional over the lilo & stitch movie

Your thing au reminded me of an idea I had earlier and I just wanna tell: I know you don't like nerfed Benrey, but what if he was "nerfed" in the sense of just being able to take teeny tiny forms after the ST killed him? I just like the idea of Gordon stumbling across mini!Ben trying to get by and at first catching him and being just a little bit of a dick about it in a "Haha look at you. Not so high and mighty now that you're stuck in a shoebox " way, justifying his actions by saying he wants to keep Benrey from doing any more shit....but soon realizing that Benrey actually has no interest in hurting people further and also "....Okay this isn't as cathartic as I thought it would be". Cue the "Benrey shows up nerfed at gordons " fic tropes playing out but with Benrey slowly healing and getting his powers back overtime with Gordon nursing him back to health and also GT content because I just think that shit is neat. HEALING EXPERIENCES

i’m okay with nerf’d benrey if it’s not permanent, like your idea here! making the nerf just a temporary state can let you have angst AND still let benrey keep his powers in the end! win-win! also holy shit i love the idea of benrey spawning back in just. itty bitty. after that big defeat on xen, he didn’t have enough juice left to make a full-sized human body again! so him tiny. maybe he slooooowwwwly gets to upsize his body bit by bit as his powers slowly return. ....or he just suddenly ZOOP, HUMAN-SIZED at all once only when his powers are fully back. depending on where he was at the time, that could be hilarious. on a somewhat related note: benrey being tiny as he recovers happens in the thingvrai au! he just keeps a tiny chunk of his collective biomass to stay/hide with gordon, while he has the rest fuse together into one big “final boss” for the ST to fight and kill. the tiny chunk is small enough that gordon is able to hide him in his glasses case!

i should make a thingvrai au specific benrey playlist only song ideas i got for him right now tho are “tardigrade song” and “community gardens” tardigrade song i got on my normal/general benrey playlist, but i don’t associate community gardens with regular benrey as much as a lot of other fans seem to. but it’s def a thingrey song, since his whole deal is “oh shit i’ve developed pack instincts and now i want friends. and also maybe a boyfriend cause wow that freeman guy is really cute ngl”

i've figured that, in the thingvrai au, the reason the guys can't leave the base isn't because all their transport means have been sabotaged, but because there's a BIGASS BLIZZARD going on that'd be just as deadly to try and drive or fly through, as staying in the base with the alien is. a pick your poison situation. the SCIENCE TEAM chooses to stay and take their chances with the alien, cause like hell they're running away from a fight. (well, darnold would. and bubby has his cowardly moments, too. but they both would rather try and survive an alien with their friends than in a fucking blizzard alone, so.) a few red shirts decide that they’d rather risk freezing, and try to get the fuck outta there... but they don’t get very far at all before thingrey snatches them up. no food gets away on his watch, nope.
