Think Equal invited @artofsuri and I to tell the fantastic and important story of Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala - the first Lankan to summit Everest. Copies are now available at Think Equal's Colombo office. It'll be headed to schools island wide this month and hopefully a few bookshops, too.
The Girl Who Climbed The Tallest Mountain - nearly done!
@artofsuri has nearly finished the final artwork (a few tweaks of the cover left). We were commissioned by Think Equal to tell the story of Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala, the first and only Sri Lankan to summit Everest.
The book should be out in a few months but in the meantime, if you want to meet Jayanthi and her climbing partner Johann, they’ll be at this year’s Lanka Comiccon - pop in and say hi!

@artofsuri and I are working on a non-fiction children's book for Think Equal about Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala, the first Sri Lankan to summit Mount Everest.
Jayanthi's story is one of skill and grit; facing the toughest climb of her life and the grinding social pressure of being a female mountain climber.
The book will be provided free to Sri Lankan schools and be sold online by Sri Lankan publisher M.D. Gunasena later this year. Exciting times!

It is time to reduce or end statistics of children from single home on the list of prisoners, prostitutes and college drop out. Emotionally healthy, purposeful and financially stable single mom will be able to produce a holistic children. Do you care, does the Church care, does the community care? Who cares about those abused and battered single moms next door? If you neglect them, your children will be affected in a way, you will be affected too. Ask me how and I will tell you.
