Cafe No. 3: Thinking Cup
A common hangout cafe for college kids I was hoping going around 11 would mean most of them would be gone by then-- I was wrong. However that might not have been a bad thing, I ordered a chai tea latte and a chocolate croissant but then the man behind me offered to pay for my order, turns out my uncle was there! Truly one of the best parts while I was ordering. The people behind the counter however, you could tell they were tired and I felt bad that I didn’t fully understand the normal habits of a Thinking Cup patreon; a constant rush of people plus someone who has no idea what they are doing probably was the biggest pain for them. The menu is extensive, there is so much to offer in drinks, breakfast foods, bakery items, lunch type of items, gluten free items and diary free items! The pricing is also really fair for what you get, and it tastes delicious too. Overall I think I might attempt to go back again, i’ll have to try a different hour on a different day though.

Every winter day needs a cute winter fairy! Even though it got steadily chillier and snowier during our session, this self-proclaimed winter fairy was such a trooper as we captured the exciting milestone of her missing two front teeth! At the end of our session, we popped into a coffee shop and warmed up with a sweet treat!
1. 요즘은 물에 라임을 띄워 마신다. 하나에 49센트! 베이킹소다와 함께 사와 집에 도착하자마자 깨끗이 씻어, 하나는 잘라 컵에 동동 띄우고, 나머지는 냉장고에 넣었다. 라임을 띄워 마신다고 해서 특별히 달라진 것은 없지만... 도마를 꺼내고 라임을 잘라 즙을 내 준비한다는 사소한 즐거움과물 한 모금을 마시더라도 맹물보다 좀 더 상큼하다는 것, 그런 게 참 좋다. 아, 그리고 뭔가 자꾸 먹고 싶을 때 마시면 입이 정리되는 느낌. 개인적으로 레몬수는 별로 좋아하지 않는데, 라임수는 입에 정말 잘 맞다.
2. 아침으로 Thinking Cup에서 커피와 초콜릿 크로아쌍을 먹고 요건 사서 왔다. 주말의 Thinking Cup은 주중의 그곳과는 조금 달라서 낯설지만, 이곳 주민들 그리고 관광객들이 브런치와 커피를 즐기는 것을 보는 나름대로의 즐거움이 있다. 초콜릿 크로아쌍의 겉에는 초코칩 조금 안에는 누텔라가 적당히 들었는데 아몬드 크로아쌍 겉엔 저렇게 아몬드가 뿌려져있고 안에는 시나몬애플크림 비슷한 게 들어있다. (내 짐작이라서 그냥 비슷한 거라 칭함) 한국 가면 생각날 거야, 이 곳 분위기 스탭들 커피 빵 샌드위치... 언제 보스턴을 떠나게 될 지 모르겠다. 하지만 다른 것보다 이곳을 내가 제일 그리워할 것은 분명하다. 암묵적인 '단골'이 된 것 같다고 행복해하며 일기장에 글을 썼던 게 언제였더라, 아무튼 요즘도 하루를 빠지지 않고 출석체크를 한다. 요즘은 거의 모든 스탭이 내 이름을 묻지 않고 계산해준다. 참 좋다.
