What if Lex Luther was right about Superman all along? Well @brightburnmovie is what you would get! 😈 You might have noticed that I love to explore the darker side of narratives so I really appreciated this fresh take on a superhero story. If you are a fan of gore then you will love this movie, some moments certainly had me squirming in my seat and it was oddly refreshing to see superhero abilities used in such a wrecklessly ferocious way from such an innocent protagonist (antagonist?) However, I think this film was less of a horror and more of a dark comedy. I found myself laughing throughout and, although this may have been due to my dark mind, I wish the film had chosen to go down that route more and taken itself a little less seriously. It seemed to blur the lines between horror and comedy in a way that left me conflicted on the intent of the film.
