I love this game so much ❤️ One of a few survival games that is third person view; I got motion sickness just from first person view so I missed out all the other fun games :(
First time playing again after fully released, the stygian shard is a great addition for end game content. Unfortunately after defeating Dracula, there's not much drive to grind it anymore. And boy, Dracula as the final boss is so fitting, especially in brutal mode. My boyfriend and I tried so many times with different weapons, skills and tactics. We even watched Youtube guide and other tips, and when we got the heart, we knew we've won :D
Even though there's not much to do in the game anymore, I still love this game so much, it has checked all the boxes. The survival aspect, the castle building, the combats, variety of weapons, and best of all, it doesn't have to be PvP, it can be enjoyed purely as PvE, plus Co-op :D
I will still support any new cosmetic DLCs if the devs are willing to add more, and I do hope they will add more gameplay contents. As much as I love it, it still have some flaws. For example, the stygian shard event is fun as first, but after some times it gets repetitive; after Dracula there's no point to play anymore; even if I want to collect everything that can be collected in the game (hats, fish, seeds, saplings, blood types), it gets quite boring as the percent is low
Overall, love love love V Rising, you did a great job Stunlock Studios, please make more contents and games, I'll support you I swear
Hi! I’m about to make a vent story you will have no context for! It will be in third person and I’m using Leo as my comfort character! Yay!
Also, because I’m lazy I’m also tagging @nickelodeon @nickanimation to bring back Rise! Or @netflix to take Rise!
You leaned against the couch behind you, watching the dark room of your sleeping best friends. In your ears you were blasting agoraphobic by Corpse an hour loop version, and right now you had gotten half-way through it. You were lightly nodding your head to the soft beats. Letting yourself be swept away by the song.
You were tired, you hadn’t really slept in days. But your mind felt to awake to let you close your eyes for more than a couple hours. By now you let your insomnia run free, to tired and lazy to try and fight against it anymore. Everything felt like so much.
To much.
You open your eyes when you feel the stare of someone, turning your head to Leo. Who was standing in the kitchen doorway with a mug in hand. He’d been watching you for a while, guess somehow you missed him moving around. But you hadn’t really been focusing on your surroundings to begin with.
You smile at him “Hey, wanna go get chicken nuggets?” You offer, standing up and stretching a bit. Sliding your headphones around your neck as you tip-toed around your sleeping friends. Leo looked at you confused, as to why you didn’t ask why he was up this late too, and as to why you were even up this late to start with.
But instead of asking, he shrugged “Sure,” he threw on his own hoodie as you two exited the lair. Walking down the empty streets of New York. It felt surreal, as if it was more of a dream. Neither of you spoke, as if tied to a state of silence. Maybe it’s because you didn’t want this feeling to end, this rare state of peace you were given as you walked with him.
You come out of the McDonald's with a bag of ten piece chicken nuggets and medium fries. The smell hitting you with a wave of nostalgia. The late nights you and your family would drive around for hours. Talking about everything and nothing, your mom grabbing dinner before finally heading home for the night.
Leo took you to a roof-top, letting you get a beautiful view of the city. The lively lights the buildings still took your breath away every time you saw it. You took in a deep breath, trying to take it in.
As the two of you sat on the edge, handing him his food. A breeze went by, neither of you feeling obligated to speak. You crossed your ankles as you ate in silence. You looked down below you, seeing the very few people still awake at this god forsaken hour. Walking home or to work, looking like little ants beneath your feet.
You curled in on yourself, an overwhelming sadness wrecking your body. God, everything felt awful. Why? Why does it have to feel awful? Why did you have to feel like this? You had to be put together, because ever since it happened, you had to put on a brave face. You had to be there as the emotionally stable one. That was your role in your family, that was what you needed to do.
But good god it hurt.
Leo watched you, tears streaming down your face as your body shook. He reached out to touch you, before retracting at the last second. He didn’t know what to do, so he just let you cry. Watching you with quiet concern. Deciding not to ask.
If you really wanted to talk about it, you would’ve told him by now.
You coughed, violently as you leaned back. Trying to calm yourself. You took shaky breaths, pulling yourself together once again.
It feels like it’s been forever since it happened, but it was only a week ago. And you hadn’t taken time to process it. As your mother flashed into a raging sadness that would sweep her body. Making her cry, you had to be there. You had to hold her, let her know she wasn’t alone.
That’s what hurt the most about it all. The pain your mother was unable to hide. The sheer sobbing when she walked in that day, the news given to her moments before. Her reverting to speech that made her sound younger, that made you see the young and scared child inside her.
She was always so strong, and now it was your turn to let her lean on you.
Leo didn’t say a word, but pulled you into a hug. Embracing you fully, not the half-hugs you two would do as a greeting. But a hug, the kind that reminds you that your not alone. That your burden is not truly yours alone to bare. That spoke so much more than any words said could convey.
You broke down again, clinging to him tightly as a loud sob racked your body. He let you dig into him, burying yourself as if you were trying to escape. Oh god how long have you needed this hug? A seething pain ripped through your chest, one indescribable and unparalleled to anything you’ve ever experienced. You screamed out another sob, as if crying out to the world in anger.
You were angry. You didn’t want this to happen. You didn’t want your mother to suffer like this. You didn’t want to feel like this. You clung to Leo as tight as you can, as if you were underwater. Being swept deeper into sea, and he was the only thing close to keeping you a float.
Leo wasn’t sure if what he was doing was working. But he was trying. He was no Mikey, hell, most of the time he didn’t even really wanna deal with his own feelings. But you looked so hurt, so lost almost. He wanted to try something, anything, to make you feel even a little bit better.
You relaxed, and let out a sigh. Still leaning against his chest, he didn’t let you go. He didn’t pull away.
“Let’s have a chat, my dear.” He watched her day in and day out from the small tree house that her neighbors had for their little child. The child now refused to go up in it and it was abandoned. “It’s the perfect spot,” He always thought, “I can see almost everything.” This man was insane, almost The Joker insane. Every little detail had to be perfect and if it wasn’t? He shivered at the thought. His victim is just like him. She’s a psychiatrist and her job is the only thing keeping her sane. For nearly three weeks she had told her mother about how she feels she’s being watched, “Someone is following me, like they’re my shadow or something straight out of CSI.” Her mother shook her head and agreed with her lovely daughter, her daughter that’s slowly losing her sanity. Her boss saw it, and her co-workers too. She hid underneath her desk and did her work there, “Someone could sneak up on me.” She told them every time. His victim is perfect, she’s skittish and do exactly as she said, he thought. It was 3am on a Tuesday morning, she was sound asleep with the thought of the three deadbolts she had placed on her front door, and the bat she kept next to her bed backing her up. He slowly crept inside a widow that she foolishly kept open in the kitchen. He came upon her dog, a big dalmatian that wouldn’t hurt a fly. He pulled sausage from his backpack and tossed it to the creature. “It’ll keep it quiet.” He went over in his schizophrenic mind. He went up the stairs, heavily carpeted and never creaked. He was like a mouse in a maze at a science lab, he had this exact moment memorized in his brain. Gone over a million times, since the first time her saw her at his doctor’s office. Shortly, he found himself in front of her room. The door slightly cracked open and light shined from the space. He pushed open the door and looked at her sleeping soundly and beautifully on her bed. His eyes wandered from her to the bat beside her, to the windows at the front of the room, to her bathroom. He walked over and sat on her big bed. Her eyes flew open at the sudden displacement and she was stunned. How’d someone get in her house? Her hands went to the smooth, metal surface of her softball bat. “That’s a bad idea, we don’t want anyone to get hurt do we?” He asked with a sinister smile and she removed her hand. “We’re practically the same my dear,” She placed her hands over her ears and tried to block out the sound of his raspy voice. “We are both insane, isn’t that a hoot?” He laughed a crazy, outlandish laugh. “We’re gonna have a little fun.” He pulled her roughly from the comforts of her warm bed and dragged her out of the room, down the stairs and into the basement. All by her hair. She kicked and screamed and he just laughed. He dropped her in the cold room and left for a chair. She saw this as her way out! Tears streamed down her face and her eyes were beginning to get puffy. She creeped up the stairs and padded her way into the living room to the front door. She began working on the first deadbolt when she felt a nick at her neck and the heavy breathing from the man with the crazy laugh. “No, you’re gonna stay and chat for awhile.” He brought her back downstairs and sat her in a chair, using chains to tie her hands and feet to it. For hours they sat in silence until he laughed. “That was a great chat, but I’m looking for a little more.” He stood up and brought a knife to her face. “We’re gonna be matching, my dear.” He pressed down hard, until he saw blood and dug deeper. She screamed and squirmed. He pushed the knife down and dragged it upwards into a smile. Once he was satisfied her began on the other side. Soon she had the biggest smile of them all. He always thought she did anyway, he loved her smile. He tossed the knife into the bleak darkness and shook his hand in a little wave. “Until next time my dear.” He smiled his sinister smile and laughed the creepy laugh and walked out of her life, for now. She screamed and screamed until she thought her voice was going to never work again. Her neighbor came into the house with police officers and pointed down the the stairs. She saw them rush down them and the blackness creeped its way over her eyes and she fell into a deep, deep sleep. (a/n: im gonna be posting a lot of writing on this acc now, so heads up!)
