Hoping someone has a deep-nerd Buffyverse answer to this Buffy the Vampire Slayer question for me:
WHERE IS THE THIRD SLAYER?!
There can be Only One, so the lore goes. But then Buffy dies for 2 minutes, Xander & Angel bring her back, and the Universe triggers the choosing of Kendra anyway. It’s not like Buffy’s 2 minute death was reported and filed somewhere - she died and Kendra rose automatically because the universe knows when the Slayer dies. So.
Drusilla kills Kendra, and soon after Faith rolls into Sunnydale. Two Slayers again.
Then, Buffy sacrifices herself to save Dawn and the world at the end of Season 5. She stays dead for A HUNDRED AND FORTY SEVEN DAYS. That’s almost 5 months. Body dead and buried in consecrated soil. There is a clear opening for a new Slayer, and the universe had a lot of time to fill the position.
WHERE IS THE THIRD SLAYER, JOSS?!?!
And why didn’t she show up for the Season 7 apocalypse? Was she sitting on her ass in Cleveland? Did the Bringers kill her? Then there should be another Slayer AGAIN.
I want…nay, need answers.
