Even if you had the energy and breath to do so, you can't take the stairs any faster because your thighs already hit the underside of your belly and you would trip if you even tried to jog up or take two steps at a time.

Years ago, I'd be up this early because I was excited about Christmas and just couldn't sleep anymore.

This year, it's because I'm huge, uncomfortable, and barely fit in my own fucking bed anymore.
