Summary: Draco never expected to find love once, let alone twice. But how does love work when your heart's still broken? *OR* Harry gets a heart transplant and develops feelings for Draco Malfoy, but those two things are not at all related. Until they are.

So, I read this amazing fic and I just need to rec it so badly!!! It's dramatically underrated!

1. If you love Drastoria, this fic is for you (but warning: it ends as we canonically know it). There aren't a lot of Drastoria scenes, but what's there makes you fall in love with them. It's a great part to get to know this Draco.

2. The characterisations are perfect. This Draco and this Harry are simply perfect. I love every single one of their interactions; they're in-character and funny and sweet. You see their love slowly unfurl and blossom and it's beautiful.

3. The writing is flawless and flows just so well. The author writes about an incredibly hard topic (a spouse's death) and makes it achingly believable and bittersweet. It's about learning to love again after losing your partner, in a way that surprises the reader (and Draco, in the best possible ways).

Bonus: the story has a lot of funny moments, subplots (the Thestrals!!!) and insightful thoughts about losses and guilt about falling in love again, but the author takes your hand and brings you through it like a caring parent. I absolutely adored it. Give it a chance! ❤️

The boyfriend does sound like a right bastard in his barely professional opinion. "He's not worth your time then," Harry says without thinking. "Er, I mean . . . I'm sure that hurts. Why do you keep getting back together with him?" They can ask questions that help their callers reflect upon a situation more clearly. "I think . . . I think it's because I'm afraid I won't find anyone else." The voice is a little hoarse. "I'm nothing special, is all." Harry doesn't know whether to laugh or cry at that. "Trust me, being special is highly overrated," Harry says wryly, and chastises himself.

Harry’s ignoring post-war life. Andromeda invites him to spend Christmas with her and Teddy. He goes reluctantly, not expecting it to be so far from Britain, for so many days, and so fucking close to Draco Malfoy. And when did Malfoy get so tanned, anyway?

It almost looks like she just tucked the sleeves under so it would work with the gloves for the evening. Old timey wardrobe hack?

I wondered about that myself, but I ultimately decided that the ends of the short sleeves looked too finished to have been folded under, and that it would have been a lot of fabric to fold away. but you might be right. I couldn’t find any shots up close at a high enough resolution to be sure. Here’s a couple more to examine for those interested:
