(ღ)- she didn’t mean any of it but somehow her words had somehow turned mixed up. betty felt her heart breaking just now at the way he just managed to accept things and let her go. her hand reaching out to grasp his jacket not wanting to let things go like this. none of what was happening felt right. ❛ that’s not it. it’s not what i’m saying. juggie...just hear me out. please.. ❛ she pleaded with him trying to set the record straight.  ❛ you never forced me into anything. please don’t go. I love being with you. i just feel maybe you’re the one that doesn’t feel the same way with everything going on. i’m the one that should apologize for making you feel this way. ❛

“do what, archie?” for the first time in that conversation jughead raises his tone of voice, the words spat in such anger there was a hint of it at the end of each one. all he was aware of was of betty’s completely not reciprocal feelings, there was no reason for archie to be acting like this. “date the girl i like? last time i checked, you had your nose under miss grundy’s dress.”

He’d never punched Jughead outside of playful kid stuff when they were little, but he was heavily considering it now. Archie didn’t think it was fair for Jughead to act on his feelings for Betty. Not now, when she was going through so much emotionally. To be honest he was a little hurt that Betty would go from admitting she cared about Archie only to turn around so soon and choose someone else. He deserved it - he hadn’t returned her love - but it still stung. 

“Seriously? You’re seriously going to go there?” 

It felt like all they did was fight about Miss. Grundy. He’d chosen to spend time with her instead of Jughead on July 4th and couldn’t help feeling like there was a little bitterness held against him for that. 

“She’s my best friend. You’re my best friend and you didn’t even tell me. I found out through Veronica?” Jughead didn’t have to ask for his permission to date Betty, but a simple hey I like the girl who was in love with you would’ve been nice. With Jughead and Betty together Archie felt like he was being cut out of the picture. They’d been the three musketeers until Ronnie joined and made them the core four. Now he wasn’t needed at all.

          ❛    oh my god  ...    ❜    she stands by him,  light of the flashlight highlighting the curves of her face.    every night they go out,  the more they find on  ...  her.    blue eyes flash up to him,  gazing through long eyelashes as the gun at her fingertips    (    so  FAMILIAR,  yet so unfamiliar    ),  betty cooper swallowing.    sometimes she wonders,  when every single piece of evidence they find,  if he’ll ditch her   (   but then he does things that helps her,   and she surely hope he won’t   ).   ❛   ---  we  HAVE  to hide it.  ❜  //  @thirdjcnes for  THAT ONE THREAD WE PLOTTED ;)
