There was this point that Devang was realizing she was getting poor. And that point was when she dug through her coat pockets for change while in line at a gas station.
That or she forgot her wallet. She forgot if she forgot her wallet.
Life is hard.
She grumbled about it in her throat while counting the change in her palm. Should be enough for a pack of cheapie cigarettes. she'd found a five and a couple of singles already.
Like anyone, she'd tuned out the others in the line, but there were two and ahead and one behind.
