Thirsty Turtle
There are two men at a bar, and a woman walks in...
... she sits at the far corner next the two older men and orders a Magic Hat.
Pretty soon they're talking about sailing, regattas, business, relationships and life. Benji and Brook. Two good friends who make a habit of spending every Friday at the Thirsty Turtle for lunch and chat up any would be listener who bellies up to the bar next to them.
Benji does most of the talking and asks lots of questions. He's procrastinating today in order to avoid mowing the lawn. Turns out he hauls boats over at the Rochester Yacht Club. As soon as he mentions this the girl can't help but ask if he was there for the J24 Worlds and he nods, surprised.
He's pleased he can have a sailor's discussion with her but she's quick to say that she's a novice and hasn't done much (or any) sailing. He commiserates because at his age he doesn't sail much and even sold his boat this season. "I'm just rail meat." What?! Oh, someone on a boat who just adds weight... "I could do that." The girl says aloud and wondering if that could ever happen.
She talks about how she's hoping to make it to Annapolis for the J105 Championship when Brook says if anyone asks her if she sails that she could answer, "Oh, yeah, I'm railmeat." She bursts out laughing at the thought of saying that with a straight face.
That just sounds too pornographic to say to someone, even if it is proper sailing jargon.
It's time for her to leave but she promises that she'll give it a genuine try, to work in "rail meat" (without laughing) if she makes it to Annapolis and that she'll come back to the Thirsty Turtle to report back.
so i heard cupid of cupid shuffle fame was on the voice tonight and now i'm really excited to watch because was or was that not the greatest song** of all time i mean honestly
