Marche Artisan Foods:

Oh man was this a good one. I picked Marche for lunch because it was right next to the place I was getting my latest tattoo done. Knowing nothing about it going in, I was very impressed. Marche is very open and I could see hipsters liking it. I picked the strata, which had ham and kale and cheese and other deliciousness in it, with soft fried eggs on the top. The portion was huge, and each bite was creamy and amazing. Even though it filled me up, I could have kept eating just because it was THAT good.

Tuma Pizza: Do you like gyros? Do you like pizza? Then this is for you. A crust with olive oil, feta, tomatoes, black olives, garlic and copious amounts of mozzarella. It will rock your world.

Thai Papaya: For lunch yesterday, I was hungry but not sure what I wanted exactly. On a whim, I stopped at Thai Papaya and it was fantastic! I had a strawberry bubble tea, California rolls and vegetable tempura. The California roll was super fresh and delicious, and the vegetable tempura was perfectly light, not over battered and crispy. The vegetables were carrot, onion, broccoli and potato. I would definitely come here again. It completely hit the spot!

Art Alexakis @ City Winery: One of the first things I did upon moving to Nashville was buy tickets to see Art Alexakis of Everclear at City Winery, and the night finally came on Wednesday. He was very funny and it was nice to hear the stories behind Everclear's big hits. City Winery is gorgeous, and as a music venue it is very intimate and cozy. I don't drink wine, so I had a drink called Radler, which was a grapefruit beer, and it was delicious. A lot like alcoholic Squirt. Nels had some sort of red wine. Afterwards, we walked down to Broadway so I could see it, as I hadn't been yet. I'd like to go back when I have money to spend and the next day to sleep in. What a fun night!

Bricks Cafe: For lunch yesterday, I tried Bricks Cafe in Brentwood. To start, I had a Caesar salad. It was fantastic - not too little or too much dressing, which was a very robust Caesar. The croutons almost melted in your mouth. For my meal, I had the goat cheese pasta. It was delicious. It featured shrimp (perfectly cooked), diced tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, goat cheese, Parmesan cheese and pasta. I believe there was also a bit of red pepper flakes in there as well, since it had a bit of heat. There was plenty of shrimp and the mixture of the tomatoes was a great idea. The only thing that may have made it better would be if it came with a little bit of bread to sop up the sauce with at the end. I would definitely go there again.

Burger Republic: On Memorial Day, I really wanted a burger. So I decided to try Burger Republic. I got "Buy The Farm", which was a patty (allegedly freshly ground and never frozen), red onions, pepper relish, smoked Gouda and an egg. Unlike other places I've gotten burgers from here in Nashville, they cooked it medium just like I asked for. The egg broke on the first bite and drenched the burger (and my hands) in deliciousness. The bite from the onion and the tang from the pepper relish added to it made the perfect bite. By far, the best burger I've had in Nashville so far!

360 Burger: Today's restaurant was 360 Burger. I really wanted gyros again, but I figured I needed to mix it up before I burn out on them. So a burger it was. I got the Hog Heaven. It was a burger with pulled pork and bacon on top. Honestly, it was a little dry, which was disappointing, but the waffle fries were excellent. The service was so/so but it looks like they have live bands, so it might be worth it to try it again sometime.

Kalamatas: Today I tried Kalamatas in Brentwood, which is a Greek restaurant. I got the gyro plate. You get a small Greek salad - the dressing was super flavorful - and then pita bread, gyro meat, and roasted potatoes. The gyro meat was delicious, not greasy at all, and the potatoes were ridiculously good - they were seasoned and roasted perfectly. It also came with tzatziki sauce to dip them in. I've eaten more gyros since I've been in Nashville than I have probably in the rest of my life combined, and this was the best I've had so far.

Bailey’s Sports Grille:

Holy moly. This place isn’t too far from my house and it is really cool. There are pool tables and dart boards, and a big bar. I got the Barnyard burger, which had bacon, cheese and a fried egg on it. I got a side of sweet potato fries, which I dipped in honey mustard. The burger was juicy and flavorful - the bun was buttered and toasted as well. Since I came hung over and hungry, I also got dessert - a piping hot chocolate chip cookie and ice cream, which was ridiculously delicious.

And, they also have an email club you can join, and they send you coupons, such as the one I used at this visit for a free burger or sandwich. Score!!!

The Thirsty Turtle: For my first night out, I came to this sports bar because their website said they had fishbowls. And OH DID THEY. I had the tropical flavor, which was 64 ounces of awesome. I also snacked on some chori queso, and did karaoke! It was a fun crowd.
