you two met when he saw you sketching by St. Basil’s Cathedral, and he asked you for a picture
the picture turned out amazing and you turned to him for a portrait
his curls perked up, his eyes just brightened when they met yours
he just couldn’t believe how beautiful and how gifted you were in art
love at first sight was cliche, but it worked perfectly in this condition
you sketched out the shape of his jawline, the slight curve of his eyebrow, the lush brown curls sitting on top of his head, his warm brown eyes
his eyes would be shimmering and reflecting the summer sun in your sketch, full of life
when you handed the sketch to him, he was absolutely flabbergasted by the accurate detailing
he usually didn’t bring along a polaroid camera, just his big professional one, but he whipped out his backup polaroid and snapped a picture of you
even though he said it was an amateur photo, you still couldn’t take your eyes off the photo
you were just so beautiful, goddess-like, a silhouette against the cathedral glow, your side features so clearly etched out
he had a talent in photography, you had a talent in art
and now
three years later
you two went back to the cathedral
and he took out the engagement ring
of course you said yes
and of course he swept you off your feet (literally) and told you that you were his princess
you couldn’t believe that a single photo and a single piece of artwork could take you this far
