Hey if this isn’t the time for requests or dialogues, blurbs, etc. Pls ignore.

But any questions comments or concerns about jj with a nerd girlfriend. And I’m not talking about the studious, bookish kind (although that can apply). I’m talking about the AUDHD, “look at this rock I found,” can’t swim, absolute dork type of nerd. I picture her as the type to wear floaties in the ocean, slathered in sunscreen with a snorkel going around in circles. Can you tell I’ve been mulling this over for days?

as you should, this is so precious.

one look at her, and jj's leaving her be, keeping a close eye on her, but allowing that twinkle in her eye to spark to life and consume the next few hours of her time. he's amused by it, enamored by the giddy grin she wears when she comes sprinting up with a handful of identical shells that differ only in their hues. he takes every little object she hands him, tucking them neatly into his overflowing pockets or into the buckets he's learned to bring along to every escapade.

now they're on the boat, and he's practically hanging off of it, forearms braced against the edge as he watches her, face first into the ocean, watching the school of fish that wiggle past her line of vision. she emerges with a gasp, shoving the too-large goggles atop her head, hair clinging to her cheeks despite the palms that attempt to smear it away. "jayj!" she calls out, and he hums. "what's up, sugar? what'd you find?"

she, to his surprise, has a massive hermit grab pinched between her fingers, and he grins at the sight. "you get that by yourself?" he teases, and she scoffs with a mirrored expression. "come around the back, cupcake. lemme get a better look."

he's all swimmed-out, now choosing to dry off on the boat while she continues her search for interesting sea creatures. when he's close enough, she places the squirming creature atop his palm, taking advantage of her free hands to properly haul herself onto the vehicle. "isn't it beautiful?"

he runs a forefinger over its ridged shell, observing as its tiny legs tuck neatly inside its solace. "you better put that back!" kie calls from the helm, keeping a steady hand on the wheel. "he'll die out here!"

jj scoffs, handing back to your wet hands. "you heard the boss, sugar. time to find more seashells instead."
