fake fic meme (you're getting random lyrics from the first few songs i'm listening to on shuffle!!). 1. I'm not like them (But I can pretend) 2. let the rain fall 3. let me steal this moment from you now
Well, lucky for you, lyrics are my favourite song titles, haha. It’s like borrowing someone else’s creativity to be creative yourself. A good time for all!
I'm not like them (But I can pretend)
Beth, Dean, Ruby and Stan are heading out of town for a long weekend to go to the third wedding of a woman they went to highschool with. (Annie is extremely bitter about not being invited, but also plans a fun weekend at home with all the kids).
Beth and Ruby are pretty exhausted because they went above and beyond with the money making so that Rio would hopefully never know they were gone, and they’re ready to just chill out at the wedding. Only the night they arrive is the night of the rehearsal dinner, and Rio’s there!! Dressed up!! Fancy!!! And he seems as surprised to see them as they are to see him, and it turns out their old highschool friend is marrying Rio’s cousin!!!!
Fights ensue! Dean’s convinced Beth knew, Beth’s convinced Rio’s lying, Ruby and Stan are both panicked and trying to stay out of it! Either way, they’re all stuck together for the weekend, and Beth tries her best not to let anything get in the way of their old friend’s good time, but still. There’s something else about seeing Rio like this, relaxed with his cousin, in generous guest mode, and Beth and Rio just keep finding themselves together, with all their history, with all their resentments, with all their little intimacies, and - - y’know - - it’s pretty hard not to fall a little in love when love is in the air.
C&C ‘verse! Rio’s got all the kids at one of Marcus and Jane’s soccer games while Beth has to work at the dealership, and there is a FLASH STORM! The game is disbanded and Rio manages to get all the kids in the van only to discover that the van’s broken down and they’re stuck where they are. They watch the weather roll in, and the kids are chattery and bored and nervous, but then Emma asks how Rio and her mom met, and well. At least then things are less boring.
let me steal this moment from you now
Okay, I love this title, and I will be using it for the C&C instalment where Beth and Rio get married that I may or may not be posting during Good Girls Appreciation Week.
Send me a fic title and I’ll tell you what I’d write!
