I am trying to catch up on my Brick-blogging.

I am TRYING.

But I have met the immoveable object that is THE ARGOT DIGRESSION. I have READ it; I am READING IT AGAIN; but aside from a couple of key lines, it's just...well, it's just not doing anything to me. Language and its evolving use are important, yep. The language of the 'criminal class' is socially important, no argument here! And then we just...kinda...keep going on that? BUT I AM SURE THE PROBLEM IS ME. So I turn to you, fandom--anyone have any solid commentary or analyses on Argot that might help this ignorant reader understand it better? Berryphase's Waterloo posts absolutely transmuted that section for me, and the whole book's been deeper because of it. I don't want to miss out on something that is clearly Very Important in here because of my own density! Tumblr posts or offsite commentary all welcome, as long as I can access it!
