She’ll tell the professor that she left her bag in the library and had to go back to get it. Or that she couldn’t find that one quill she couldn’t go to class without, or perhaps she’ll just be honest and tell them she overslept. It all depended on which professor it was going to be, except that Delaney couldn’t even remember what class she had now. All she knew was that she was very late, and not for the first time that week.
She burst into the empty classroom and stood there, panting after running up six flights of stairs. Except... wait. The classroom was empty. Oh... Delaney let out a sigh and brushed her hair back. It was a Saturday. She wanted to smack herself. A small movement at the corner of the room caught her eye and she noticed for the first time that there was someone else in the room. “S-sorry...” Still a little out of breath, she took another breath before continuing, “I didn’t mean to interrupt whatever you were doing.”
