The search for the Little Miss took more than half of a day. Ryokuryuu and Zeno moved from place to place, occasionally pausing for a break, but no matter how many times they did it, their hearts kept beating restlessly. The Yellow Dragon needed to glance only once at his brother to guess his state of mind. After all, the girl was their master, no, even more than that, their family.
For Zeno, she was like the glimmer of hope in his life. For years, he had waited, waited, waited and there she got born. Someone who offered him a will to live, someone whom he wished to protect.
Where is she? I was certain that we might find her fast!
He supported his golden head on Ryokuryuu’ shoulder and sighed deeply. Trees, old houses, rivers flashed by his vision, then blue birds passed them by. For a mere moment, Zeno stared at them, trying to recall their names. Then, he gave up.
I’m really getting old… This isn’t important right now.
His blue eyes lowered to the ground underneath them. A flicker of red caught his attention.
“ Ryokuryuu! Let’s go there! ” He pointed his index finger at the place while drawing in some air.
The Green Dragon’s leg never ceased to be of help in these unpredictable, yet, awful situations. His healthy, his never tiring body, was necessary, too. As soon as he reached the ground, Zeno sprinted in lass’ direction.
“ Little Miss! ” Calling out to her, the Yellow Dragon fell on his knees near her fainted figure. His vision blurred and tears trailed down his cheeks. His heart was heavy almost like someone was crushing it in their palm. But the squeezing vanished when the lass opened her eyelids, called out his name.
“Thank God you’re breathing. Zeno and Ryokuryuu came for the Little Miss.”
His left hand wiped away the tears and a smile replaced them.
“ Let’s go somewhere safe! “
