John Lydon is a cultural beacon, to regard him as an artist within the narrow and ridiculous frame of the music industry is an offensive ignorance the science of sociology. Some people exceed their art. As it happens the world is just barely catching up with the ramifications of the dismantled ridiculous fakery with the arrival of punk, which shockingly still governs music, films, art and fashion; the outlet of youth for the expression of their individuality. And who dismantled the whole charade back in 1976. John Lydon with his Sex Pistols. Ageless geezer!

Public Image Ltd. - One Drop

Ett band som i min mening har otroligt varierande kvalité på sin produktion är PiL. Få band kan så väl stå som exempel på den gamla klyschan "När det är bra är det fantastiskt, när det är dåligt är det hemskt." Det är inte utan att man undrar lite över vissa egenheter bandet dras med. Exempelvis undrar jag varför den gode John Lydon kände att han i två låttexter på samma skiva behövde poängtera att han kommer ifrån London. Det får jag nog aldrig veta. Men det gör det samma när det är så svängigt som det är i One Drop. Giftemålet mellan Lydons ettriga röst och baktakten, den går inte av för hackor.
