what's your role in a found family dynamic?

the "comic relief"

yes, alright, you tell your jokes and do your bits. you break awkward silences and sing silly songs. but what about when you're not keeping the levity? what else makes up the person who makes others feel good? you're kind. you connect with people. you hate to see others sad. you have a vice or two--who doesn't--but the point is, you are the epitome of what it is to be human, and you are able to encompass the absolutely zany improbability of life as we know it. people are comforted by you. they cherish your spirit and relate to you. but it can be difficult when you're not laughing. comedy becomes a wall to keep worse feelings out, or in. a person who feels any emotion to the extreme will undoubtedly feel others the same way. laughing is great, but... perhaps a big reason you appreciate your family is because there's something you can't stand in a silence.

Pho’s gonna make a mistake with @pillar-of-peace​

     She was going to dry heave.

     Hunched over in the street, just shy of the brightest area of a street lamp- the little one hugged her stomach and groaned, eyes shut to avoid looking at the still puddle below. At least it wasn’t raining anymore.

     It was blissfully quiet in comparison to just last night. Stifling, closed in silence was nothing compared to the open air, the sound of cars and people many blocks away oddly soothing.

     But the sound of something closer? It didn’t register immediately, looking off to the side at a dark, empty trashcan. But she stiffened and lifted her posture a little despite the bodily complaint.

     The little body that couldn’t be an older then eleven or twelve- bared her teeth, spines blooming from messy hair and puncturing ratty clothes. Who knows what she was actually hissing at, looking like a strange human-ish porcupine.

It was fortunate for Lucia that she ended up approaching the other from behind --- because it gave her the excellent ( this, was of course SUBJECTIVE ) idea to make a running leap for his back, attempting to surprise him with her reintroduction. Of course, this would prove difficult, considering the older was just about a foot taller, but she still made the jump onto his back, scrambling to cover his eyes with her hands to further the element of now faux surprise, and she failed, instead just clinging to him attempting not to fall back onto the ground as her feet swung behind her. “Guess who’s back early, bitch!?”
