"Ah yes, Levi, I wanted to give you something like how you have given me one of your cravats, but nothing came to mind. If I could give you my bolo tie, I would if it wasn't of such important. So, hopefully this will be a suitable replacement." He dug into his pocket, pulling out a silver necklace with a green stone in the middle. It wasn't like his bolo tie, but it would do; at least he thought so.
Levi glanced at Erwin curiously, tugging down the cloth around his mouth. It was a cleaning day for him and for a moment he thought he was in for a questioning about paperwork. It was almost done. Really.
But it was nothing like that at all. He blinked at the prospect of a gift and quickly came closer looking up wide eyed. There really was no need to return the favor. He hadn’t given Erwin his cravat so he could get a gift in return.
The fact that Erwin wanted to give him anything at all though really warmed the corporal to his core.
Of course he couldn’t have Erwin’s tie. That was something that commander’s wore. It was a sign of rank and part of their uniform. Nile and Pixis both wore one as well. Levi liked Erwin’s the best though. It was a nice shade of green that complemented his sky blue eyes but maybe he was a little bias on the subject matter.
He’d be a liar though if he said he wasn’t a little bit excited for a gift, he bobbed on his toes a bit and waited for Erwin to pull it out.
Oh! The light caught the silver metal and Levi could tell at once that it was a valuable item. Precious in many ways aside from it being just a gift from Erwin which held a value unmatched all on it’s own.
Levi held out his hands for the item noting that it was real silver at once. And the stone seemed valuable as well. A lot of money had probably gone into something like this. Incomparable when he’d only given the commander a piece of cloth… But it was the meaning behind these items that made them valuable not the material or the price tag on them. All the same it was hard to put aside that notion. The gift was very overwhelming.
Levi’s thumb ran over the clearly precious stone in the middle, the same color as the stone Erwin wore.
He looked up at Erwin with wide eyes. “Is this really for me?”
A thank you should probably be leaving his lips instead of such a rude question but truly he was too overwhelmed to believe what he was being given. Such a fine item… one you’d see at those pricey stores in Sina. It was something that a little street rat like him would have never expected to hold much less be given.
