Plans for knitting a sweater:

I've got 120g of variegated handspun yarn. It's a heavy laceweight. I've also got about 75g of grey laceweight handspun yarn.

The grey yarn is leftover from a cardigan I knit myself a few years ago. The finished cardigan weighs 112g.

In theory, that means I've got enough of the variegated yarn to make a new sweater, except that the grey is merino/silk and the variegated is 100% wool - meaning less yardage for the same weight.

So it will be striped.

I did my swatch with 3mm needles, but the previous sweater was done with 3.5, and I like it a bit better, so I'm going to bump it up.

I will do my math based on the 3mm swatch - that way if the math isn't perfect, it'll err on the side of more ease instead of less.

I need to decide if I want the stripes just on the body, body + sleeves, or the whole thing (body, sleeves and rib). The body will be lace, sleeves and yoke will bee stockinette

Which option would be better

Only stripes in the lace

Stripes in the lace and stockinette (body, sleeves, yoke)

Stripes in the body and yoke only (sleeves and rib variegated)

Stripes everywhere!
