8.3 cinematic shenanigans
i haven’t seen anyone talk about some things yet, so... here we go!
“But N’Zoth turned a noble mind to madness, and now my father is only remembered as Deathwing.”
this line, specifically the part “turned a noble mind to madness” really clicked with me somehow. the word choice here is really interesting, because wrathion is talking to anduin, a king. a noble. and wrathion certainly holds him in a high regard. so by saying that, wrathion seems to be subtly implying that, should n’zoth fully corrupt anduin (because let’s be real, anduin is well on his way), that anduin won’t be remembered as anduin, king of stormwind and the alliance, but something far worse and much more terrible, something that anduin isn’t.
“And, as I haven’t the least desire to share that fate, I’ve been studying how to avoid it.”
this next line, while it doesn’t stand out as much, does have important things in it, too. wrathion, while not only trying to convince anduin that he knows a lot about n’zoth and that he is willing to help, is also hinting at the notion that anduin should do the same. this becomes more clear later in the cinematic, but at the moment anduin refuses to listen to whatever wrathion is trying to say because it’s not straight to the point (and it never really is with wrathion).
however, due to bfa’s circumstances, i highly doubt we’ll see anduin fully void corrupted and insane, which is kind of a shame, because that’d be super fun to see.
