Just in time to be wildly out of date in a little over 24 hours (the SDCC ROBOTECH panel is tomorrow evening), a NEW EPISODE of THIS ROBOTECH THING, in which I discuss the Robotech Academy project & Kickstarter at length, as well as show off some toys I was disappointed by and throw a sad, sorry little bone to Robotech/Voltron. (If you've been following my reactions to the book thus far, you probably know what I'm going to say.)

In which Jonathan drinks half a bottle of wine and spends two hours talking about the history and lasting appeal of the ROBOTECH television series and its spinoff material. Many clips from the show are played, many opinions are expressed, and if any mistruths are spoken, let's just blame the wine.

Well, the cross-post of this at Dislocated Life got retweeted by the AICN Twitter account dude, so I guess I might as well post this (back) up here, even though the video's not finished processing as of 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. Starting to think it won't be up 'til Wednesday morning. Can't imagine how late it'd be if I'd finished that last pass over it I kind of wanted to do late last night.

NEW EPISODE TIME AGAIN! Topics discussed this time include the fall of Creavision's fan film Valkyrie Project, the products Toynami had on display at the New York Toy Fair this year, and that tingling feeling in the back of my head that Shadow Rising, if indeed it comes out any time in the foreseeable future, is going to be using The End of the Circle as a rough, basic roadmap just the same as The Shadow Chronicles did. (A lot of what I talk about will probably be familiar to faithful readers of the blog. Apologies to those readers for repeating myself.) ALSO: I show off some toys and some animation artwork, as is my custom.

NEW EPISODE LAUNCH GO! Time to look back at 2013 and the five biggest bits of ROBOTECH news of the year. Also, a quick look at two fan projects that rang in the new year and a smidgen of grousing about the ROBOTECH news story that just won't go away.

NEW EPISODE TIME! Robotech's been released on DVD too many blasted times since the first disc dropped in 2001 courtesy of ADV Films, and a new release is coming in November! What's a fan to do? Well, if you're me, you do your best to break this stuff down so every fellow fan finds the release that's right for them. ALSO: I talk about the Robotech/Voltron solicitation and a major bug in io9's "Everything You Need To Know About Robotech" article from the end of August, and show off a new anime cel and the pack of knockoff stickers featured on the blog this week.
