A Fine Romance

I would like to know, from my fellow writers, their favorite romance scenes that they have written. Kisses, dramatic confessions, tragic partings, tearful reunions, I want to know.

From @fadetouchedlurker, dear friend, who threw the challenge out. And @crimsonphantasmagoria, who tagged me. I did find it a challenge because my romance tends to be sprinkled in my other scenes. Solas and Lavellan talking business while he lifts her hand and kisses the back of it every so often between words, that sort of thing. But! There is is this!

Chapter 13 of Pride's Price.

He met her in the fade as a man, sneaking up behind her to wrap her in his arms. She laughed as he picked her up and spun her around, her head thrown back to rest on his shoulder.

“Solas!” she cried with joy. “I’ve been waiting for you.”

He smiled, kissed her neck, spun her around in his arms. “Have you, ma vhenan? How terrible of me to keep you waiting.”

She grinned, throwing her arms around his shoulders, and he pulled her to him, relishing the feel of her in his arms.

“Thank you,” she told his shoulder, breath warm through the fabric, “for coming to me.”

“I will always come for you.”

She paused, then melted, and he had to readjust his grip as she went boneless in his arms. “What...are you doing?” he asked, fumbling to keep her upright as her knees buckled, and the tops of her feet dragged against the grass.

“I’m swooning,” she told him, her matter of fact tone belying her limp state.

How ridiculous, he thought, hiding a grin. As if she would ever do something so delicate as a swoon.

“Indeed. My apologies. I should have realized.” He knelt in the grass, then toppled over, bringing her with him until she lay sprawled atop him. She hummed, shifted, and slung a leg over one of his, trapping him.

They lay for a moment, she with her eyes closed still in her ‘swoon’, and he staring up at the trees he conjured for her, tracing ridiculously sappy things in El’vhen’an along the skin of her arm.
