So I saw This Century, Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! and Never Shout Never, along with other local bands last saturday. Beach Weather (composed of formerA Rocket To The Moon vocalist Nick Santino, Reeve Powers, and Austin Scates) was supposed to be there as well but due to unfortunate circumstances they encountered while flying to the country, they didn’t make it and decided to just stay in the US. They were more than sorry though and were looking forward to playing here someday.
While all the bands were great and amazing, for me This Century’s set was the most lit because a great portion of the people who came only went just to see them perform for the last time as a band. It was a surreal moment for me to be able to finally meet and see TC play live after a long time of waiting for them to come back here in the Philippines. And I didn’t realize until they played Tiptoe that I was actually witnessing one of the greatest, most memorable and bittersweet moments of my life. I asked Joel on twitter two months ago to play Tiptoe and/or Seven at BRF. He responded and said he’d let the band know. That’s why I was that emotional when I saw them play it in front of me last saturday. I have been a fan since 2013 and since then I really wanted to see them live. But due to financial issues, I hadn’t gotten the opportunity. Fortunately though, they were part of the lineup this year so I’m really thankful for Pulp and all the organizers. I also managed to save up hard for the event so I was able to go. I’ll surely miss This Century and all the memories I had with them, their music, and the memories I had whilst listening to their songs.
