Travelling tales .....

So I'm still at large in the land down under. My week of teacher exchange is officially over and what a week it was! Fighting the jet lag and Kilimanjaro aches and pains I arrived last Saturday to a warm welcome with my exchange hosts. The really interesting personal revelation I had was that I actually do quite love my job. Amazing what time, distance and perspective can do for one's point of view! The school I visited had excellent facilities and I was genuinely envious of their excellent wifi and technical team's support. They are really pioneering the use of the ipad alongside the curriculum. This has been an excellent learning opportunity to see the possibilities and to realise I'm on the right track - phew, I think we also may have sorted out an exchange program where students and teachers will get the chance to visit both schools, which was my real agenda and reason for coming. However, it turned into so much more! I'm a very lucky (albeit tired and a little ill) girl. Back to the warm shores of Debben next week and I will hold thumbs for some time in the sea. As I will hit school running, as term 3 also commences!!
