I think JKR wanted a completely happy ending that involved "redemption" and "how love conquers all" so much that she kind of just said "fuck it" and decided for Harry (despite the abuse at the hand of one his professors and being lied to/used by the headmaster of the school) to name his children after them. 

I really don't get JKR for that one.
