So today on Facebook I got harassed by this man.no I do not know him, just like everyone who writes me in this manner. I'm certain this is a sock puppet account but this is someone who's been following me on social media as he admits to seeing me on fetlife. This behaviour is never acceptable and how pathetic and cowardly can you be to use a fake account? So going forward in documenting EVERY man who harrases me on social media as this has been going on for years. I not staying silent. #MeToo Because I lost count of all the times I've been sexually harassed in my lifetime, or how young it even started. Because it is something that maybe not all men perpetrate, but ALL WOMEN face. Because the fact that almost every female-identifying person on my friends list has also posted about this happening to them does not surprise me one bit. Because it's easy to shift the narrative from listening to women's experiences & believing them to hatred for men - but to do so would be missing the point entirely. This isn't about men's feelings of victimhood (though most certainly many men have also experienced this type of harassment), this is about women being given a place to speak up about what we face every day. Again it doesn't surprise me to see that most every woman I know has countless stories of harassment, but the fact that it does surprise some (mostly men) IS the point. We face this every day and could be subjected to it at any time, in any place, wearing any clothing. We live this, we know this and it's time for you all to know it too. It needs to stop and the first step is becoming aware of the magnitude of this problem that has always been there. Let's do something so our daughters don't ever have to say Me Too. #ThisIsWhyImAFeminist
